Chief Minister's Green Fellowship Programme 2.0

Building on the success of the first phase, the Chief Minister’s Green Fellowship Programme 2.0 (CMGFP) was launched vide G.O. (2D) No. 66, Environment, Climate Change and Forests (EC-4) Department, dated 21.04.2025, with a total outlay of ₹9.01 crore.

Anna University selected 38 Green Fellows and deployed them to District Collectorates to support district-level environmental and climate initiatives under the guidance of District Collectors and District Forest Officers.

To enhance their knowledge and skills in climate science, sustainability, and environmental governance, the fellows are enrolled in an exclusive one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Climate Change and Sustainability offered by Anna University. The programme's inaugural function is scheduled for 16 June 2026 in the presence of the Hon’ble Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Government of Tamil Nadu.

The Fellowship tenure for Phase II will conclude on 29.07.2027. Upon successful completion of the Fellowship and academic requirements, the Green Fellows will be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Climate Change and Sustainability by Anna University.

🤝 Anna University hosted a productive interaction with the leadership team of Bounteous to explore collaborations in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and emerging technologies.

The discussion focused on industry-integrated learning, internships, research collaborations, curriculum enhancement, and talent development to prepare students for the future workforce.

Representatives from the Hiroshima Prefectural Government, Japan, visited Anna University to discuss the proposed Hiroshima Academy program, which aims to provide students with Japanese language training, internship opportunities, cultural exposure, and potential career pathways in Japan.

Initiatives like these can open new doors for students by connecting education with global industry opportunities.
