We mourn the passing of our revered teacher, R. Sivakumar.
A stalwart in cost accounting, he taught the subject with a passion and depth that were hard to match.
At a time when it was fashionable to be politically correct with students, he treated them like school kids, barraging them for not being quick on the uptake.
Those who liked him became his lifelong followers.
His thirst for knowledge was boundless.
He was curt and dismissive toward many people, but beneath all of that was a heart of gold.
The archetypal old-fashioned professor who lived by the chalk piece wrote several biographical sketches in the final years of his life that were then carefully pieced into books.
He was synonymous with the Society of Auditors for a long time and cared a lot about students and the profession.
Most importantly, he fashioned the teaching career of many.
He will be missed.
