Creativity is to think differently. The space to think differently comes when the mind is not preoccupied with anything.

But our minds are always consuming something - televisions, social media, books, or even our work. You have no opportunity to be idle and be bored. 
This is the time when your mind wanders. 
Because it has nothing to consume or be occupied with.

To give a technical view, when you’re bored, new neural pathways are forged. It means diverse, contrasting thoughts get connected and give new ideas.

The brain loves new, novel things. If It’s not getting any, it will create some. 
So get bored, and spend some time doing nothing. 
Something will surely pop up.

When you’re idle, your mind becomes a creative workshop and makes devilishly creative ideas.

We experienced what fun and experiential learning could do when virtual teams come together for an Outbound Training day.

Thanks to KANINI Leadership team for giving Talent Sculptors an opportunity to meet and work with their TDMs. It was wonderful to see the unparalleled energy, enthusiasm, and camaraderie build up throughout the day.

But the thing is, this is the driving factor that differentiates leaders and successful people from the rest.

Forget impressing someone at work or home; your self-esteem amplifies multifold once you’re on time and have all your to-do list ticked off.

If you want to increase your effectiveness, be organized.

Prioritize your daily and weekly tasks into categories based on what needs your immediate attention, what doesn't, and how important or unimportant they are.

Accomplish the most important work first. This will stimulate a sense of victory for other tasks on the list.

👉 That procrastinated workout plan should start today, and not wait until Monday.

👉 That long-pending house cleaning should happen now.

👉 That personal development course you have always postponed enrolling in, it’s high time to do it.

👉 For that project at work that needs your approval, don’t wait till the deadline to submit.

and appear as the most reliable person, both at work and at home.

Determination is not being able in the absence of fear. It is the ability to be brave in the face of fear. It is the combination of a leader’s motivation and passion to achieve desired goals through meticulous planning.

A determined leader is a passionate and strong-willed person. This type of leadership inspires confidence to strive towards the ultimate goal in others in crisis or innovation.

What differentiates a leader from others is that other people wait for someone else to act and a determined leader is one who not only acts but leads others with resolve in the face of adversities towards success.

A famous inspirational story that immediately comes to mind is of King Robert Bruce of Scotland who fought against the invasion of his land by the King of England. He fought six battles to free his land with his small army. He was defeated each time.

Finally, they had to escape and save their lives. The army was completely broken and all lost all their hope. Tired and sick at heart the King took refuge in a cave where he saw a spider spinning her web. King Bruce counted that the Spider tried six times to make her thread stick to the wall of the cave, but lost every time. However, the strong-willed spider did not lose hope and succeeded in the seventh time by spinning the thread from the other side of the cave.

The King was greatly inspired. With renewed courage, he raised his army once more and defeated the King of England using a different strategy this time.leader?

Being attentive is not just about listening to what is being said, but more importantly making use of all your senses to understand what is not said. It involves giving your undivided attention to finer details and taking into account the broader perspective.

The visible effects of being an attentive leader :
1. On the personal front, it increases your self-awareness. It makes you a very mindful person and you develop a connection not just to your internal self but with your co-workers also.

2. On the professional front, you become approachable to your co-workers. This increase in comfort level helps build stronger relationships at work.

3. Being attentive at work helps avoiding mistakes to happen as timely course correction is possible. Also, with the ever-changing technology and competition, being attentive helps adapt to the work culture seamlessly and build lasting relationships with the customer. Many of the things we find interesting are not so by nature, we took the trouble of paying attention to them - Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Psychologist

Proof of the pudding is in the eating.

As a leader:
1. Look around, Have I been paying attention to: People, Priorities, Projects
2. How would things have played differently had I been more attentive?
3. What timely actions do you plan to take?
Being attentive is not the end result, it is an attitude.

Communication is one of the most important soft skills required in every aspect of our life, especially in the professional world. A good leader communicating eloquently in the oral or written form leads to an increase in productivity, professionalism, and morale of the team.
Eloquent words can be compared to captivating pictures or soulful poetry.

The orator is able to convey in meaningful, uncomplicated ways ideas and thoughts to the audience.

I would like to stress on the importance of  “less can be more” as regards eloquence as an outcome of this classic example.
As an eloquent leader: 

Do I have the required clarity and knowledge about the topic? 
Am I able to connect with my audience?
Am I able to captivate their attention by bringing in experiences, stories, and sometimes humor that they can relate to? 
Have I met the objective of the communication? 

Create high impact leadership teams for the modern workplace. As an emerging leader, learn to embrace moments of uncertainty and model it for your team.
