Very happy to see our Beloved Velammal Engineering College - VEC Principal feature our Club activity in his Annual Report for SANKALP 2017 Annual College day of Velammal Engineering College - VEC (part of Velammal Group Of Institutions ). உலகில் அதிக அளவு ஹைட்ரோகார்பன் எரிவாயு உற்பத்தி செய்யும், பெரிய வல்லாதிக்க நாடும், தொழில்நுட்பத்தில் உச்சத்தில் இருக்கும் அமெரிக்காவில் கூட எந்த ஒரு எரிவாயு எடுக்கும் பகுதியும்
மீத்தேன் கலந்த நிலத்தடி தண்ணீர்,
மீத்தேன் கலந்த நிலபரப்பு,
மீத்தேன் கலந்த காற்று,
மீத்தேன் மூலம் சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதிப்பு,
மீத்தேன் கலந்த நீரை நிலத்திற்குள் அதீத அழுத்தத்துடன் செலுத்துவதால் ஏற்படும் நிலநடுக்கம்,
மணல் மற்றும் நிலத்தடி நீர் அதிகளவில் உறிஞ்சபடுவது....
இதுபோன்ற பாதிப்புகளில் இருந்து தப்பவில்லை.....
இதனை அமெரிக்க அரசின் சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதுகாப்பு நிறுவனம் அதன் அறிக்கையில் உறுதிபடுத்தியிருக்கிறது.....
இந்தியாவில் இன்னும் எண்ணெய் கசிவை அப்புறப்படுத்த வாலியை கொண்டு வாரும் தொழில்நுட்பத்தோடு வாழும்போது எந்த அளவிற்கு ஹைட்ரோகார்பன் திட்டத்தால் பாதிப்பு உண்டாகும் என்பதை உணருங்கள்....
நம் தலைமுறை வாழ்வதற்கு கூட வேறு இடம் நோக்கி செல்ல வேண்டிய சூழல் உண்டாகும்.
இதனை தடுக்க உடனடியாக காவிரி டெல்டா பகுதிகளை பாதுகாக்கப்பட்ட வேளாண் மண்டலமாக அறிவிக்க அரசை வற்புறுத்த நாம் ஒன்்றிணைய வேண்டும்.

Kudos to Mechanical Engineering students of Velammal Engineering College for their support of Eco Friendly and Healthy Tender coconuts in place of packed soft drinks, which are not so healthy and are an Environmental menace from the point of manufacture to their end life cycle in dumpyards as non biodegradable solid waste ! Let's hope this trend is here to stay for a long time to come as Tender coconut water is nutritious and highly energizing !

would almost always win the Populist choice awards from every who attends a College Symposium !!! In their enthusiasm, participants often forget to put the empty food packets into the waste bins; thus creating havoc for Solid Waste Management and the people who clean up after.
More importantly, the Aluminium foil used in packing the beloved Biriyani is non biodegradable, and toxic. However, it is fully recyclable ! Many recyclable items do not reach the solid waste management stream because of improper collection.
Members of VEC GREEN CLUB of Velammal Engineering College ( Velammal Group Of Institutions) decided to do something about it ! In a very simple manner, the locations where students were most likely to eat their food during FÖRNYA Symposium (11 Feb 2017) were identified. An interesting info graphic highlighting the importance of proper solid waste collection was put up in and around these areas to generate awareness with a garbage collection bag right below it.
An interesting transformation happened. The campus was left much cleaner and the biriyani packets got isolated into the garbage bags making segregation of waste easy when it reaches the TN Municipal Administration 's Municipal Waste management facilities. What was most endearing was when the team was congratulated by the workers who picked up the waste since we made their job a whole lot easier ! Just one of many tiny steps to be taken by VEC GREEN CLUB of Velammal Engineering College - VEC !
