Students of Grade 6- 9 had the privilege of listening to criminal lawyer and advocate Mr. Banu Prakash. The talk focused on the structure of the judiciary and the jurisdiction of the various courts and their functions. Mr. Prakash interspersed his talk with examples from actual cases which made it more relevant and pertinent.
He spoke extensively on the functions of a lawyer, the qualifications needed, and the pitfalls that one would encounter if they chose this profession. He touched upon the monetary aspect of the profession and spoke about the earnings of a lawyer which would far surpass that of any other professional.
The question-and-answer session that followed was lively and interactive. Students asked questions on a variety of topics and the host answered them all with great aplomb and humor. It was a knowledgeable and enjoyable session for all.
