Building Agency in Students! For this to happen, students will need to take ownership of their learning and develop the necessary skillsets for them to thrive.

Involve is a Social Enterprise based in India that believes that developing agency in students and making them more self-reliant is essential to reduce the dependence on adults in the learning process. Towards this vision, Involve aims to create an ecosystem of support for students through Peer-based learning.

The future of education becomes visible when leadership and innovation move to the center of learning.
At Shiksha Navachar aur Safalta ka Sangam – 2.0 in Banka, Bihar, these weren’t just ideas—they shaped the entire experience for over 170 students and educators.

Student leadership emerged as a defining force, with young people anchoring the event, leading panels, and speaking with absolute confidence. Alongside them, innovation came alive through Project-Based Learning (PBL) exhibitions, where students showcased real-world solutions they built themselves.

When we create enabling environments, students don’t just learn—they lead.

Two days of slowing down, reflecting deeply, and building stronger clarity together.
At the first Managers’ circle of the year, we stepped back from the everyday hustle — and reconnected with why and how we work together.
It felt okay to ask questions without fear of judgment, to admit confusion, to challenge ideas, and to learn from each other honestly. And that made all the difference.
Because strong teams aren't built only through plans and targets. They're built through trust, vulnerability, feedback, and shared understanding.
That's what the Manager's Circle is — not just a leadership retreat, but a commitment to keep growing, together.
Heartfelt thanks to Taegutec for so warmly opening their space for us — it set the perfect tone for meaningful reflection and conversation.

Over three incredible days at Involverse 2026, we paused, reflected on our journey, questioned ourselves, explored innovation, and pushed ourselves to raise the bar. We were reminded that innovation is part of our DNA, and that meaningful work requires ownership, care, and courage.

But beyond the sessions and deep discussions, we learned, we imagined, we laughed, and we danced. We built lasting connections through shared experiences.

At its heart, it was about holding the center — of our purpose, our values, and each other.
Involverse 2026 doesn't end here. It lives in the work we carry forward, every single day.

From a small pilot to reaching ~1 million students across India, Involve’s journey has been shaped by students, teachers, schools, education systems, and people who believed in the work early and stayed with us over the years.

Today, across 7,000 schools and with 30,000 teachers, we’re seeing students become more confident learners, peer mentors, and leaders in their communities.

We’re thankful to our long-time champions: T.V. Srinivasan, Shaleen Parekh, Shobha Punkollu, Ish Kapoor, Ramesh Mangaleswaran, Meenakshi Ramesh, Sanjeev Rangrass, Nikunj Jhaveri, and Chetan Mehra, for being part of Involve’s journey and for helping strengthen the movement toward student agency across India's classrooms.

Across Bihar, this year has been about building systems that place students at the centre of learning. In Banka and Bhagalpur, we nurture learning spaces where students lead with confidence, educators strengthen their practice, and districts embed the practices within the systems.

We’re grateful to our partner Caring Friends, who help us make this possible:
Together, the work now reaches across 2 districts in Bihar—impacting more than 6.9 lakh students and 20,000+ teachers through deep collaboration with schools and the education system.

And the shift is becoming visible:
• Foundational Math outcomes have improved by 12%
• Over 75% of students have moved to higher Hindi reading levels
• District institutions are increasingly owning and sustaining student-centred practices

Aavishkaar Foundation, BCG, Dalmia Charitable Trust, Overdrive Electronics, and Rotary Club of Queens Necklace Mumbai.

Together, the work now spans across two districts; 18 blocks—reaching over 3.3 lakh students and 12,000+ teachers. More importantly, the shift in learning is visible:
• Foundational Math outcomes have improved by 14%
• Reading levels have grown ~2.5x in Sambhal and ~5x in Varanasi

What does change in education actually look like?

In Sambhal and Varanasi, it looks like teachers innovating every day, students stepping up as leaders, and classrooms becoming spaces of real transformation.

📘 A storybook capturing these journeys was launched at the NIPUN Bharat Mission district event in Sambhal—bringing together these moments not as isolated successes, but as practices shaped through consistent effort, ownership, and collaboration across the system.

Building a Sustainable Legacy of Leadership in Sambhal

For nearly three years, we have worked closely with the schools of Sambhal, witnessing firsthand a powerful legacy of student leadership taking root and thriving across the district.

To ensure this culture of excellence continues long after our senior students graduate, we facilitated the Legacy Transfer Celebration. Across 173 schools, we are ensuring that the spirit of peer learning isn't just a moment in time, but a permanent part of every classroom.

During these ceremonies, our NIPUN Champions from Grade 5 formally pass the "torch" of leadership to the younger cohort. As ARP Kavitha Sharma highlights in the video, this is about much more than just a ceremony; it is about holistic development and instilling a deep sense of responsibility from a young age.

Do you believe peer learning is the key to lasting change in our schools? Let’s discuss in the comments below!

₹1.39 Lakh Crore allocated to education—an 8% increase over last year. But does more funding guarantee better learning?

While the latest budget shows solid steps forward in foundational literacy and an alignment with labour market needs via skilling, we have to ask if we are investing in the kinds of structural shifts the NEP truly calls for.
We are heavily funding school infrastructure and digital platforms to increase access, creating a "Missing Middle". Who is building the capacity of our teachers and district leaders to translate that access into real impact? Why is progress still crawling when it comes to holistic assessment and empowering our educators at scale?
At Involve, our focus remains clear: doubling down on the core. We believe in scaling effective early-grade interventions, investing in practice-based professional development for teachers, and supporting system actors to translate policy into practice.

Read through the full blog by Ashutosh Srivastava as he breaks down how to bridge the gap between policy and true educational impact. And let us know: where do you think the budget hits or misses? Share your thoughts in the comments!
