These were some of the thoughts shared by our cadres at the end of the program.

Throughout the day, the sessions guided them through three profound questions that every young Muslim should ask herself:

How do I preserve my identity?
Femininity in Islam: Preserving Faith and Character in the Age of Modernism

Sometimes, the right questions lead us to the right direction, not just the right answers. Alhamdulillah, this Tarbiyah Program was an opportunity for our cadres and members to reflect, learn, and return with a renewed sense of purpose.

Alhamdulillah, the Tarbiyah Program was successfully conducted on 26 July 2026, bringing together young sisters for a morning of learning, reflection, and meaningful discussions.

The program began with the recitation of the Qur'an by Sis Rafiya (Associate, GIO Mogappair), followed by the welcome address by Sis Atoofa Nasiha, City President, who shared that the day's agenda was built around three important questions every young Muslim should ask herself:

Who am I?
What is my responsibility?
How do I preserve my identity?

The speakers were then formally welcomed by Sis Aafrida Zulaigha, ZAC Member, Tamil Nadu & Puducherry.

The first session, "Lessons from the Story of Luqman alayhis salam for Youth," was presented by Sis Rahila Sheriff Sahiba, Secretary, JIH Chennai Metro. The session reflected on Luqman alayhis salam's advice to his son and how young Muslims can apply his wisdom in their character, decisions, and relationship with Allah.

The second session on Da'wah and Iqamat-e-Deen was delivered by Janab I. Jalaludeen, Secretary, JIH Tamil Nadu. He spoke about the responsibility of every believer to live by Islam and convey its message through sincere effort, good character, and service to society.

The final session, "நவீன யுகத்தில் இஸ்லாமிய பெண்மை" (Femininity in Islam in the Era of Modernism), was delivered by Janab T. Azeez Luthfullah Sb, Secretary of Research and Publications, IFT, as part of the upcoming Embracing Femininity Campaign. The session reflected on the lives of remarkable women from the time of Rasulullah ﷺ and highlighted how Muslim women can preserve their feminine identity, dignity, and fitrah while living in a rapidly changing world.

The program concluded with a feedback session, announcements from the city leadership, and the Vote of Thanks delivered by Sis Aaliya Tasneem, Associate, GIO Venus.

GIO Villivakkam: "Subhat Ummi – Companionship with My Mother"

Alhamdulillah, GIO Villivakkam successfully conducted "Subhat Ummi – Companionship with My Mother," on 25thJuly. It was a heartwarming mother-daughter bonding programme aimed at strengthening the beautiful relationship between mothers and daughters through Islamic guidance and meaningful interaction.

Alhamdhulillah 5 mothers and 8 daughters has participated in this event.

The session began with an inspiring talk by Sabiya Aunty on the importance of the mother-daughter bond. She beautifully explained the significance of this relationship through verses from the Holy Qur'an and authentic Hadith, highlighting the rights, responsibilities, and blessings associated with it.

The event was followed by an engaging interactive session where mothers openly shared their personal experiences of motherhood—the joys, sacrifices, challenges, and valuable lessons they have learned throughout their journey. Daughters also participated enthusiastically, making the session lively, emotional, and memorable. The atmosphere was filled with heartfelt conversations, laughter, reflection, and even tears, creating a truly meaningful experience for everyone present.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt du'a, seeking Allah's blessings upon all mothers and daughters, praying that He strengthens their bond, grants them love, understanding, patience, and makes their relationship a means of earning His pleasure.

Alhamdulillah, the event was a great success and was well received by all the participants. We pray that Allah accepts our efforts and enables us to continue organising beneficial programmes for our community. Aameen.

Subhat Ummi program across the units of Ennore, Royapettah and Mogappair.

The Mother-Daughter Meet, titled Suhbat Ummi, meaning "Companionship with my Mother," was conducted on 12 July 2026 at Janseva of GIO Jamalia Unit from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM. The gathering brought together 15 participants, including 5 mothers, creating a warm and welcoming space for mothers and daughters to spend meaningful time with one another.

The program was graced by Sis Ayisha, Zonal President, who delivered an inspiring session that encouraged mothers and daughters to value their relationship and spend meaningful time together. The event was hosted by Rutba, Unit President, and Nafeesath, Unit Secretary, in the presence of Sis Atoofa Nasiha, City President.

The session featured interactive games, trivia, and creative activities that brought smiles and laughter to both mothers and daughters. These activities created opportunities for conversation, reflection, and shared experiences, allowing them to connect beyond their everyday routines.

One of the most touching moments of the program was the heartfelt letter writing and card exchange. As mothers and daughters expressed their feelings through words, many were moved with emotion. Hugs, smiles, and heartfelt conversations made this a memorable part of the gathering.

The program concluded with a feedback session, followed by the distribution of goodies and snacks. Overall, the Mother-Daughter Meet was a meaningful experience that strengthened the bond between mothers and daughters, leaving everyone with cherished memories and a renewed appreciation for each other's companionship.
