Prepare BEETROOT OATS PATTY at home. Save & Share the video.

INGREDIENTS:
1 ½ cups chopped beetroot
3/4 cup chopped carrots
1/2 cup chopped potatoes
2-3 slices of bread
½ cup oats
Seasoning:
3-4 tbsp chopped coriander
1 chopped green chilly
½ -1 tsp salt
½-1 tsp red pepper
½ tsp grated ginger
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp powdered jeera
½ tsp chaat masala
½ lemon juice

METHOD:
● Peel and chop beetroot, carrots and potatoes. Pressure cook them on low flame for 8-9 whistles or cook in a rice cooker for around 30 min.
● Grind oats and bread separately and keep aside.
● Mash the boiled vegetables in a large bowl
● Add all the seasoning and lemon juice. Mix well
● To bind, add ground oats and bread.
● From the mixture, make the patties of desired size. You can roll in some sesame seeds if desired.
● Heat a non-stick pan, add a tbsp of oil and cook the patties onmedium high flame for a min. and then reduce to medium low flame and cook for 5-6 min.
● Flip the patties and add some oil and let it cook for another 7-8 min or till done.

To Serve:
1) This Will taste amazing with a mustard-based mayo dip (mix half a spoon of mustard powder and a pinch of salt in plain mayo and let it stand for few hrs, then use)
2) Use as a sandwich filling, or pair with a burger bun or wrap along with a crunchy salad made of shredded onion, capsicum and carrot.his snack can be served as a wholesome meal.
3)Also, can be served as a chaat item by topping it with green and tamarind chutney, chat masala and bhujiya sev.

Useful Tips:
1) We can roast the mashed veggies on a non-stick pan for few minutes for the excess water to evaporate, hence needing fewer slices of bread. Let it cool down and then use
2) For gluten free version, use roasted chana or sattu powder to bind.

Beetroot with an attractive and healthy composition of-

Energy – 43 kcal
Carbohydrates – 8.8 g
Dietary fiber – 3.5 g

HOMEMADE GRANOLA

INGREDIENTS:
½ cup - sunflower seeds
½ cup – pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup – almonds chopped
½ cup – rolled oats
¼ cup cranberries, raisins and blueberries each
½ cup strawberry squash
Yogurt /cold milk /almond milk
1 banana chopped
¼ cup apple chopped finely
1 /4 cup pomegranate

METHOD:
➡️Take a pan and roast all the nuts and seeds individually for 2-3 min.
➡️Mix all the nuts and seeds once roasted.
➡️Heat the strawberry squash on a low flame in a pan and reduce to half.
➡️Put the mixed nuts and seeds along with the berries into the syrup. mix nicely and allow it to cool.
➡️Store in an airtight container and use them as required.

To Serve:

Add curd in a bowl and top 2-3 tbsp of granola. (It tastes well with cold plain/almond milk too)

Chop all the fruits and mix it in the curd/milk (can use the desired combination of fruits that goes well with curd or milk)

Prepare just before having it.
Tastes best when chilled.

Note:
For sugar free version, you can skip using the squash and just store the roasted nuts and berries in an airtight container.

As recommended, you should always wash raw fruits, vegetables, and salad items before eating or cooking.

This is because of the bacteria that may still be on them.

Items that are peeled or cut, for example oranges, melons or avocados, should still be washed to avoid any bacteria from the outside peel ending up on the edible part.

Washing foods before peeling or chopping will also prevent any bacteria from the outer side contaminating your chopping board and utensils.
