The country's foreign exchange reserves declined by USD 1.47 billion to USD 639.642 billion in the week ended September 17, RBI data showed on Friday. In the previous week ended September 10, 2021, the reserves had dipped by USD 1.34 billion to USD 641.113 billion. The reserves had surged by USD 8.895 billion to a lifetime high of USD 642.453 billion in the week ended September 3, 2021.

During the reporting week ended September 17, 2021, the drop in the forex kitty was mainly on account of a decline in the foreign currency assets (FCAs), a major component of the overall reserves.

Bitcoin price slipped in trade from highs seen in early Friday after China's central bank said it would crack down on cryptocurrency trading, banning overseas exchanges from providing services to mainland investors. The world's largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization slipped around 5% at $42,810.

The People's Bank of China also said it will bar financial institutions, payment companies and Internet firms from facilitating cryptocurrency trading, and will strengthen monitoring of risks from such activities, as reported by Reuters.

Adani Ports on Wednesday announced the approval of proposal of acquisition of 10.4% stake of Gangavaram Port (GPL) by the company from Government of Andhra Pradesh. The consideration for proposed acquisition of 10.4% equity stake of GPL is ₹644.78 crore and the transaction is expected to be completed within 1 month.

“The company has received letter/order from Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board dated 23rd August, 2021 received on 24th August, 2021 intimating the approval of proposal of acquisition of 10.4% stake of GPL by the company from Government of Andhra Pradesh," Adani Ports said in an exchange filing late Tuesday.

One97 Communications Ltd, which runs digital payments firm Paytm, has allotted shares to 166 former and current employees ahead of its planned public listing, according to the company’s filings with the ministry of corporate affairs.

More than 1.01 million shares have been allotted to these individuals, the filings showed.

The list includes Paytm’s president Amit Nayyar who was heading the financial services division at the Noida-based startup. Nayyar, who resigned in June this year and is currently serving his notice period, has been allotted 116,000 shares at an exercise price of ₹10.5 lakh.

According to the company’s draft red herring prospectus, Paytm had a total paid-up share capital of 606,941,722 shares at a face value of ₹1 each.

The milestone was achieved during the morning trade when the scrip was trading at its 52-week high value of Rs 1,755.6 on the BSE, which took the m-cap to Rs 74.77 lakh crore or $100.78 billion

The report expects gross value added (GVA) to be at 15% in Q1FY22.

The corporate results announced so far indicate that there is a substantial recovery in corporate GVA EBIDTA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) + employee cost) in Q1 FY22, it said.

State Bank of India has developed the 'Nowcasting Model' with 41 high-frequency indicators associated with industrial activity, service activity, and the global economy.

The corporate GVA of 4,069 companies registered a growth of 28.4% in Q1 FY22. However, this is lower than growth in Q4 FY21, thereby corroborating the lower GDP estimate than what was thought earlier, the report stated.
