In the year 2020, a good friend/client approached me to prepare a slide deck. He wanted to pitch to investors about his app idea at a virtual startup festival organized by a premiere B-school in the country.
We had only 4 days in hand for submissions. This document came for my rescue.
We completed the deck in two days, designed it on the third day, and guess what, a week later, we received an email that we got selected for the finals. Never ever did I expect my deck to make a cut.
What was more astonishing to me was that there were 2993 submissions, and only 15 made it to the finals. We were among 15 of those finalists.
That's not all. We won a grant for INR 10,00,000 (equivalent to USD 14,000 approx) for the app idea.

Wishing everyone a happy Deepa-oli. Yes. That’s how we read it. It’s not a typo!
Here is our take on the Tamil-based interpretation of this word ‘Deepawali’:
Deepa - lamp
Oli - light
Hence, it is called the Festival of Lights. Eventually Deepa-oli became ‘Deepawali’, or ‘Diwali’.
