என்ன என்று தெரியாமலே
வேட்பாளராகி நின்றேன்.
என்ன வேண்டும் உனக்கு, என்று குடும்பம் சேர கண்டேன்.
உறவு தாங்கிப் பிடிக்க
நானும் கனவை நிஜமாக்க துடித்தேன்.
தேர்வு என்னை பிடிக்க
காலை தேர்வு, மாலை தேர்தல் என்று பழகிப் போனேன்.
வார்டு 180 தெருக்கள் பழகி, கால்கள் தானாக நடக்க சென்றேன்.
மக்கள் நிலை கண்டு மனம் சற்று பரிதவித்து நின்றேன்.
என்னை சேர்ந்த உறவு, வென்று சரி செய்ய கூற கேட்டேன்.
ஆற்ற வேண்டிய கடமைகள் ஆயிரம் என்று உணர்ந்தேன்.
பட்டியல் போட்டு செயல் படுத்த திட்டம் தீட்டி
காத்திருக்கின்றேன்.
காலம் நல்ல பதில் சொல்லும்; மக்கள் மனம் என்னை வாழ்த்தும்.
வாய்ப்புக்காக நான் தவம் கடக்கின்றேன்.
கடவுள் வரம் கிடைக்க
பசித்திருக்கின்றேன்.
வெற்றி கிடைத்தால் அது எனதல்ல;
என் பணிக்கு கிடைத்த அங்கீகாரம் ; என் மக்கள் எனக்கிட்ட கட்டளை.
மக்கள் பணி செய்ய போராடுவேன்; அவர் வாழ்வு சிறக்க என்னை அர்பணிப்பேன்.
