Every badminton match is a test of speed, strength and movement. But for young and adolescent players, an injury can change far more than the score.

Research by Dr. J. Ayyappan, Professor, SRM College of Physiotherapy, explores the patterns, epidemiology and risk factors of injuries among youth and adolescent badminton players, offering insights that can support better injury prevention and safer sports participation.

Published in Frontiers in Sports and Active Living, a Q1 journal with an impact factor of 3.0, the study reflects how research at SRM College of Physiotherapy connects scientific evidence with real-world sporting challenges.

Research that begins with evidence can help shape healthier athletes.

Turning Innovation Into Better Recovery |

From the living room to the rehabilitation clinic.

Technology once created for recreation is now shaping conversations in evidence-based stroke rehabilitation. Faculty from SRM College of Physiotherapy have published their systematic review protocol in the Q1 journal JBI Evidence Synthesis (Impact Factor: 4.5), exploring how Wii Fit Plus exergames can enhance balance and postural control among individuals recovering from stroke.

This research reflects a simple yet powerful idea: meaningful innovation isn't always about creating something new. Sometimes, it's about discovering new possibilities in what's already around us.

Congratulations to the authors on this noteworthy research contribution that advances the future of physiotherapy.

Research with Real-World Impact | SRMCPT

Great research doesn't always begin in a laboratory. Sometimes, it begins on the streets we walk every day.

While many saw traffic and crowded roads, Mr. Palanivelan Muruganantham, an Undergraduate Physiotherapy student at SRM College of Physiotherapy, saw an important health question worth answering.

His research on the respiratory health of urban street vendors has now been published in BMC Public Health (Impact Factor: 4.5), proving that impactful research has no age limit. At SRM College of Physiotherapy, undergraduate students don't just learn healthcare. They help shape its future.

Congratulations on this outstanding achievement!
