SPSS Variable view "Measures" for different types of questions.
If 5 point Scale questions asked - Ordinal
If Questions with options - Nominal
(Gender, Educational qualification)
If questions are asked but different possible answers - Scale
(Fav. brand, products without option, asking income like (10k - 15k, 16k-20k, 21k - 25k).
DON'T BLINDLY USE THE MEASURES IN VARIABLE VIEW THAT AFFECT YOUR RESULTS.
