Celebrating World Intellectual Property Day 2026

Sri Sairam Engineering College, in collaboration with TNSCST & TIFAC, successfully organized a State Level Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on *Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)* on 28th & 29th April 2026.

The event brought together academicians, innovators, researchers, and industry experts to explore the significance of Intellectual Property in fostering innovation, creativity, and technological advancement.

Successfully Completed: Skill Sprint – MERN Stack Workshop 🚀

We are excited to share the successful completion of the “Skill Sprint: Skill Enhancement Workshop on MERN Stack”, organized by the Department of Computer Science & Business Systems, Sri Sairam Engineering College on 16th September 2025 at Alpha Hall.

This hands-on workshop provided students with practical exposure to the MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js), empowering them with essential full-stack development skills required in today’s tech-driven world.

We were privileged to have Mr. Deepak N, Tech Lead at Bhobi G, as the resource person. His session offered valuable insights into real-world application development, industry practices, and modern web technologies. The interactive learning approach enabled students to gain confidence in building scalable web applications.

Successfully Completed: Webinar on “Agility in Action: Mastering Scrum for Success”

We are pleased to share the successful completion of an insightful webinar organized by the Department of Computer Science & Business Systems, Sri Sairam Engineering College on 13th September 2025.

The session on “Agility in Action: Mastering Scrum for Success” provided our final year students with a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices, equipping them with essential skills for today’s dynamic software industry.

Bootcamp on Embedded Systems – Industry Learning Experience

Sri Sairam Engineering College successfully organized a Bootcamp on Embedded Systems to provide students with practical exposure to industry-oriented embedded technologies.

The session was delivered by N. Rakesh, Senior Embedded Engineer at Valeo R&D, who shared valuable insights on embedded system design, real-world applications, and current industry practices.

During the bootcamp, students gained hands-on knowledge about embedded hardware, microcontroller programming, system integration, and the role of embedded technology in modern automotive and smart systems. The session helped bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, inspiring students to explore careers in embedded systems and product development.

Such initiatives strengthen the institution’s commitment to industry collaboration, skill development, and innovation-driven learning.

Intellectual Property Clinic 2026 – Phase I

The Intellectual Property Rights Cell of Sri Sairam Engineering College successfully organized “Intellectual Property Clinic 2026 – Phase I” from 16 February 2026 to 20 February 2026 at the Incubation Centre.

The initiative aimed to guide students, researchers, and innovators on protecting their ideas through Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), including patents, copyrights, and design protection. The clinic provided participants with practical insights on innovation documentation, patent filing procedures, and the importance of safeguarding intellectual creations.

The sessions were conducted by Dr. G. Puthilibai, Professor & Captain – IPR Cell, Sri Sairam Engineering College, a distinguished researcher and recipient of several prestigious recognitions including the National IP Award and WIPO Award. Her guidance helped participants understand how to convert innovative ideas into protected intellectual assets.

This initiative served as an excellent platform to promote innovation, research culture, and awareness about intellectual property among students and faculty members.

InnovaTN’25 – State Level ATL Innovation Challenge & Inaugural Ceremony of Mentor India Academy

Sri Sairam Engineering College proudly hosted InnovaTN’25 – State Level ATL Innovation Challenge, along with the Inaugural Ceremony of the Mentor India Academy, on 08 November 2025. The event was organized in association with the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, under the ATL Sarthi initiative, aiming to strengthen the innovation ecosystem among young students.

The program brought together distinguished dignitaries and innovation leaders including R. Ambalavanan, IAS, Director – EDII Tamil Nadu; Suman Pandit, Innovation Lead – AIM, NITI Aayog; Arunima Thappa, Young Professional – AIM, NITI Aayog; A. Nalini, Chief Educational Officer, Kanchipuram; Thiruniraiselvi, Chief Educational Officer, Chengalpattu; and Kannan Gireesh, Managing Director, Livelife Education & Motivational Speaker.

The initiative focused on encouraging school students to explore innovation, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking, while also empowering mentors through the newly launched Mentor India Academy to guide young innovators effectively.

The event served as an inspiring platform to nurture creativity, promote STEM learning, and strengthen the innovation culture among students across Tamil Nadu.

Innovation & Entrepreneurship Outreach Program in Schools

The Intellectual Property Rights Cell of Sri Sairam Engineering College, in association with the IEEE HKN Nu Eta Chapter and the IEEE Product Safety Engineering Society, successfully organized the “Innovation & Entrepreneurship Outreach Program in Schools” on 27 February 2026 at the Atal Lab, Sairam Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Tambaram.

The program aimed to inspire young school students to explore innovation, product development, intellectual property rights, and start-up culture, nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset at an early stage.

The session was delivered by Dr. G. Puthilibai, Professor & Captain – IPR Cell, Sri Sairam Engineering College, who shared valuable insights on innovation, the importance of protecting ideas through intellectual property, and the opportunities available for young innovators.

The event was actively supported by enthusiastic student volunteers who contributed to the smooth conduct of the outreach initiative.

Successful Seminar on Basics of Intellectual Property Rights for Innovators and Entrepreneurs

The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell of Sri Sairam Engineering College successfully organized a Seminar on “Basics of Intellectual Property Rights for Innovators and Entrepreneurs” on 23rd February 2026 at VRR Hall as part of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) Calendar Driven Activity.

The seminar aimed to create awareness among students, researchers, and aspiring innovators about the significance of protecting intellectual creations and understanding the process of securing patents, copyrights, and other forms of intellectual property.
