The future of fashion technology will be shaped by stronger industry-academia collaboration, continuous innovation, and a workforce that is ready to solve real-world challenges from day one.

These were some of the key takeaways from an engaging interaction with Mr. Dhandayuthpani C, Managing Director, MAG Solvics Pvt. Ltd., held alongside the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MAG Solvics and the School of Fashion Technology, KCG College of Technology.

Drawing from his experience in advancing textile testing and monitoring solutions, Mr. Dhandayuthpani C shared valuable insights on industry trends, emerging opportunities, and the growing need to align academic learning with evolving industry expectations. The conversation highlighted the importance of experiential learning, innovation-driven thinking, and creating pathways that enable students to gain practical exposure beyond the classroom.

The MoU marks the beginning of a collaborative journey aimed at fostering industry engagement, skill development, internships, research initiatives, and innovation-focused projects that will enrich the learning ecosystem for aspiring fashion technology professionals.

One of the defining moments of Placement Day 2026 at KCG College of Technology was the insightful panel discussion on “Human Skills vs Technical Skills: What Will Get Engineers Hired by 2030?”.

Moderated by Mr. Sudarsan Ranganathan, Founder & Director, Maaya Analytics, the session brought together eminent industry leaders:
• Mr. Kannan Sugantharaman – CFOO, Mastech Digital
• Ms. Kavitha Mani – Senior Manager HR, OJ Commerce
• Mr. Madhavan Parthasarathy – MD & CEO, Kripya Solutions
• Ms. Rupa Ramamurthy – Senior EVP, Teleperformance
• Mr. Marimuthu – Associate Director, Tessolve

The discussion offered valuable perspectives on the future of employability in an AI-driven world.
