At M.O.P. Community Radio Station (MOP CRS 107.8 MHz FM), we had the honor of hosting Mr. Mahmood Sait, CEO, Urbaser Sumeet, for an insightful and meaningful interview that offered a deeper understanding of the conservancy ecosystem in Chennai. He spoke about the advanced technologies adopted in waste segregation, the global standards that can be integrated into our systems, and the collective commitment required to make Chennai a cleaner and more sustainable city.

He also reflected on ‘Namma Little Heroes’, an inspiring initiative of ‘Urbaser Sumeet’ that pays tribute to the children of conservancy staff members. He emphasised that this annual celebration is not merely an event, but a gesture of respect and acknowledgement for these young individuals, whose resilience, potential, and aspirations deserve to be recognized with dignity and pride.

An interview filled with innocence, honesty, and heart-warming moments. Our ‘Little Heroes’—the children of sanitation workers from Urbaser Sumeet—joined us at M.O.P. Community Radio Station (MOP CRS 107.8 MHz FM) and brought a beautiful, refreshing spirit into the studio. They opened up about their schools, friendships, dreams, and the pride they feel for their parents who work tirelessly to keep our city clean and safe. This is a heartfelt celebration of these young voices and the families whose dedication strengthens our community. 🎙️✨

MOP CRS captures these special moments with these amazing kids, whose pure voices continue to inspire us and remind us of the hope and joy children bring into our lives.

Some people don’t just clean our streets — they safeguard our everyday lives. Our conversation with the sanitation workers was one such unforgettable experience. Listening to them speak about their challenges, their dedication, and the pride they carry in their work reminded us why their contribution is truly invaluable. They spoke about duty with the honesty of a worker and about challenges with the strength of a survivor. It was deeply satisfying to hear how they admire the Urberser Sumeet — the place where they work — with such great respect, as their company has helped them gain respect in society by supporting them in many ways. Deeply grateful and humbled by this interaction. 🎙️✨

Reflecting on our recent initiatives at MOP CRS, we are proud to have contributed to raising awareness about ‘WATERBORNE DISEASES’ through both an impactful interview with public health expert Dr. Ilanchezhiyan, titled “Health in Every Sip: A Conversation on Water-Borne Dangers,” and a heartfelt awareness song. The interview highlighted that safe, clean water is a fundamental right, not a risk, and shed light on the unseen dangers lurking in our taps—from infections to prevention strategies. Complementing this, the ‘Voluntary Health Services’ (VHS) team composed a powerful awareness song, brought to life with the traditional ‘PARAI ISAI’ instrumentalists who visited our studio to record the piece, creating a blend of health message and cultural heritage. As their radio broadcast partner, we helped amplify this message, which continues to inspire and educate the community. These efforts aim to transform perspectives, foster community action, and promote water safety and hygiene practices. Let’s maintain this momentum—because awareness is the first step towards prevention, and access to clean water is vital for a healthier future for all. Join us in spreading this essential message! Together, we can make a meaningful difference!

A heartfelt throwback to a meaningful moment we recently shared — on World Su***de Prevention Day 2025, M.O.P. Community Radio Station came together to spread love, hope, and encouragement through a special Postcard Activity. 🌸✍️

In this regard, our team organized a heartfelt activity: a simple postcard, filled with handwritten words of care, has the power to bring strength, comfort, and light to someone in need. Whether it’s a note of kindness, a gentle reminder that “you are not alone,” or a heartfelt message of support — each card became a step toward building connection and compassion.

💛 Together, we believe that words can heal, silence can be broken, and hope can be shared. Remember, life is worth living, and every soul truly matters.
