The right rug can bring a dining room from drab to delightful. It has a dramatic effect on the overall look and feel of the room.

🟨 Should it be sized to the room or to the table?

👉 Dining rooms general rule is to base the size of your rug on the size of your table.

It’s important to take note of two measurements: your space and your dining table. You don’t want a rug that's too small, indeed you also don’t want a rug to extend too far beyond the dining room chairs, as that can make your furniture look too small.

Drawing may take many forms, and it's important you find your favourite, the most comfortable for you. It can be a freehand sketch on a piece of paper or digital drawing on the iPad in Procreate. Maybe it's a quick Photoshop concept sketch or a mixed technique that suits you best.
