Eighty years ago, India began writing a new chapter.

Eight decades later, that story continues in every classroom, every idea, every dream, and every young mind that believes there is more to build.

At Great Lakes, we celebrated the 80th Independence Day with the colours of our flag, the warmth of our community, and a shared sense of pride in being part of India’s ongoing story.

Because independence is not only about looking back at how far we have come. It is about asking ourselves what we will leave behind for the generations that follow.

And suddenly, the campus feels a little quieter.

Our 22nd Convocation brought together our graduating class, their families, faculty and friends to celebrate a journey that was so much more than a degree.

There were proud parents, emotional hugs, endless photographs, laughter between the tears, and graduates taking in one final look at the place that had been home for these years.

From the first day on campus to walking across the stage, every late night, friendship, challenge and little victory led to this moment.

And now, the next chapter begins.

At our 22nd Convocation, we celebrated the graduates who went above and beyond, through academic excellence, domain expertise, leadership and their contribution to the Great Lakes community. Some journeys don’t just take you across borders they broaden your perspective.

My exchange semester at SKEMA Business School, Lille, France was an experience that extended far beyond academics. From engaging in multicultural classrooms and hands on projects to collaborating on a social impact initiative with UNICEF Lille, every opportunity challenged me to think globally and grow both personally and professionally.

Beyond the classroom, living independently, embracing a new culture, and exploring Europe taught me resilience, adaptability, and the value of diverse perspectives. These experiences have shaped the way I approach learning, leadership, and the world around me.

As I begin my career with J.P. Morgan, I carry forward the confidence, friendships, and global mindset this journey has given me. I am sincerely grateful to Great Lakes Institute of Management and SKEMA Business School for making this unforgettable experience possible.
