PARAMPARIYA PONGAL CELEBRATION-2023 @ SCAD ...CHENGALPET..
The Glimpse of Our Celebration:
Right from the entrance of the school where the milestone was kept stated as “SCAD Village”, and the Ethnic atmosphere inside the campus made everyone to be astonished and look back into our culture and tradition which is still ‘Alive’ in many Indian villagers.
We’ve very much grateful to the correspondent Mrs.ANANDHI BABU who helped us make this day a happening one with the radiance of a village scenic structural, set-up with cows, village men and women performing activities like milling the paddy and live pottery demonstration of how it’s being made and a magnificent set-up and sales of daily and occasional commodities like food items in Parambariya food court and a traditional drink of Ragi Porridge and Panagam and in addition the Bangle valas, Astrologies, like (Kili Josiyam), Jallikattu and Tatoo Making, Giant Wheels, Rekla Race and Bullock cart .
Teachers with an enthusiastic spirit, prepared pongal in pots set with fire, Rice, Moong dal, Jaggery, Ghee, Milk and Nuts added and distributed it to all the students and staff.We enjoyed an exclusive pongal celebration with all cultural events which takes place in a village like, Oyillatam, Mayillatam, Kavidiyattam, Pulliattam, Kollatam, Kuthattam, Kumiyadiattam, Koravattam, Baratham, Villupattu, etc.
Children in Today’s world are deficit with this knowledge and we as parents and Teachers have to inculcate and remind them about the remnants of the past which is still in a livid mode to rejenuvate culture and Heritage…
On the whole, on the day of celebration of the Parambariya Pongal we had a feeling that Pongal was brought live and the memories with etch in our minds forever…
