World Day of International Justice, also called Day of International Criminal Justice or International Justice Day, is an international day of commemoration observed around the world on 17 July in an effort to recognize the emerging system of international criminal justice. 17 July is the date of the adoption of the treaty that created the International Criminal Court. On 1 June 2010, at the Review Conference of the Treaty of Rome held in Kampala (Uganda), the Assembly of State Parties decided to observe 17 July as the Day of International Criminal Justice. [1]
Each year, people around the world organize events on this day to promote international criminal justice, particularly in support of the International Criminal Court.
