Dear students and parents,

As we finish Day 50 of an amazing journey, we do not want to end it abruptly. We tried our best to offer you a new learning experience with minimal intervention and you did really well. Even though the tasks may seem all random, there is a connection. And we want you to learn about the bigger picture from the Masters.

Before we wind up the Summer Track on 31 May 2020, we are offering you a 5 Day Online Webinar Series from the Master Trainers of Sargakshetra Right Track. And on Day 1, we have Er. V K Krishnakumar, an Experienced Career Guidance Consultant as well as the Course Director of Sargakshetra Right Track Civil Service Foundation Program. The session will start at 7:00 PM on 26 May 2020 Tuesday and it will be brought to you by a Facebook Live.

Welcome to Day 34 of Sargakshetra Summer Track.

Tomorrow, 10 May, the second Sunday of May, is celebrated as Mother's Day. It is a celebration honoring motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May.

What can you do for your mother on this Mother’s Day? You can create a special DIY art or craft for her. You can be more helpful in her daily chores. You can share your most favorite memory about her to your family over dinner. You can even start the day with a tight hug and a sweet kiss, making her morning a very special one. You can deliver and record a speech on Motherhood.
There are plenty of things that you can do. You don’t have to do them all. Pick one or two. And make sure that it stands out. Share your experience with us. You can either write that down in your Summer Track notebook or create a separate video of it.

And when you wish them, convey our regards as well,

Best Wishes
Team Right Track.

Welcome to Day 32 of Sargakshetra Summer Track.

Today, we would like to suggest three videos on smartphones.

Smartphones have become an integral part of our society and a life without them is considered impossible by most grownups. From a simple device that facilitated one-to-one communication, they have evolved into some kind of a supercomputer at our easy disposal. Most of you will be using a smartphone for submitting the Summer Track assignments. But, how much do you know about its evolution? The first video by Tech Insider will show you the history of Cellphones and how drastically they have changed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrdNdprcYls

The second video will help you understand what makes a smartphone. The animated video will open up a smartphone and fly through it. It's like a teardown but fully animated using accurate models and images from a particular brand of smartphone. The alignment of these parts may vary across different brands but it can be used to get a general sense of the components in your smartphone.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCS8jGc3log
As of 2018, there are around 2.5 billion smartphone users in the world. If we broke open all the newest phones and split them into their component parts, that would produce around 85,000 kg of gold, 875,000 of silver, and 40,000,000 of copper. How did this precious cache get into our phones--and can we reclaim it? In the third video, from TED-Ed, Kim Preshoff investigates the sustainability of phone production.

What did you learn after watching these videos? Which one do you like the most? Why? Note down in your Summer Track notebook.

Best Wishes.
Team Right Track.

Welcome to Day 30 of Summer Track.

If you are attending Right Track, we have seen your passion and energy while sharing your views about the environment during the Public Speaking Sessions. How great it would be then to grow something on your own this summer? As the lockdown keeps extending, you might have already started planting some vegetables or even micro greens.

Whether you do it your yard or your balcony, whether you plant in bulk or just one plant, it all matters now. So, let’s plant something. If you are not in a situation to plant something new, because of the shortage of supplies or because you already planted the seeds, you can complete the assignment by looking after an already planted sapling or plant.

So, let’s get going. The deadline for submitting the assignment in Google Classroom will be set to 26 May 2020. Make sure to photograph every step of the process. Record your daily actions in your Summer Track Notebook on a new page. Leave 3 or 4 pages free so as to keep them together.

Best Wishes.

Welcome to Day 27.

Have you ever asked your grandpa or grandma about their school days? Have you inquired about the popular games of their times? Have you asked them about your parents’ childhood? Let’s do it this summer.

Decide who you are going to interview. If not your grandparents, it can be your relatives or neighbours as well.

Once you have decided the interviewee (a person who is interviewed), prepare some questions to ask them. Include questions about their childhood, schooling, family atmosphere, friendship, work etc.

Call them and conduct the interview. Give them an introduction about Sargakshetra Summer Track program. Inform them that their responses are going to be recorded and an edited interview will be turned in as part of the program. Record their responses along with the questions in the form of a written interview. Give a title and a short introduction about your interviewee before writing down the questions and answers.

For Level 2 and Level 3 Right Track participants who have already completed this task during last year’s Summer Track, you can repeat the process with a new individual and add a few fresh questions from your past year’s experience.

Best wishes.
Team Right Track.

Welcome to Day 26 of Summer Track.

How many of you have read the book ‘I Am Malala: The Story of the Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban’? If you haven’t heard about Malala Yousufzai, the Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate in the world, the title of her book itself sums up an introduction.

When the Taliban took control of the Swat Valley in Pakistan, one girl spoke out. Malala Yousafzai refused to be silenced and fought for her right to an education.

On Tuesday, October 9, 2012, when she was fifteen, she almost paid the ultimate price. She was shot in the head at point-blank range while riding the bus home from school, and few expected her to survive.

Instead, Malala's miraculous recovery has taken her on an extraordinary journey from a remote valley in northern Pakistan to the halls of the United Nations in New York. At sixteen, she has become a global symbol of peaceful protest and the youngest-ever Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

Today’s task is to listen to the speech delivered by Malala at the Nobel Award Ceremony and note down the important points that you liked.

The YouTube channel that published this video has added big subtitles to it to make it easy for students and beginners to understand the speech easily. The channel’s name is English Speeches and is home to a large number of beautiful speeches from leaders and visionaries all over the world. Check out the channel for more outstanding speeches.

Best wishes.

Welcome to Day 24 of Sargakshetra Summer Track.

Your desk is where you work mostly, either to complete your Summer Track daily assignments or to do homework from school. An organized desk can help you do those things effectively. It should let you get to anything you need to work, and give you the proper space to do that work. Once your stuff is in the proper places, you can customize the desk to make it your own personal space.

Today’s task is to organize your desk. The following videos will give you some insights to start with. You can find more videos online on the same topic. But, it is not required to buy all the things listed in the videos that you refer to. Since we are in a lock down, the intelligent and appropriate decision will be to utilize the materials that you have access to. Remember, we have already made a pen holder from old newspapers.

The videos are attached for another reason as well. If you are interested, you can plan the changes that you are going to make ahead and create a simple video blog, popularly called a vlog, sharing your own tips about organizing your study table.
