How can we improve Learning Levels?

35% of rural private school students in Grade 5 cannot read a basic grade 2 level paragraph. Learning quality, articulated in the National Education Policy (NEP2020) as the key goal of the education system, still remains a challenge for all students across sectors. Though parents believe that private schools provide better learning environments for their children, actual student learning outcomes in private schools require much improvement (Azim Premji Research Group 2018, NCERT 2017).
