Day 1 of Panjab University’s Combined Entrance Test (CET) for postgraduate courses recorded an impressive 91.17% attendance.

A total of 2,768 candidates from across the country appeared for the examinations conducted at 10 centres in Chandigarh, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana and Sri Muktsar Sahib.

Presented by the Department of Indian Theatre, Panjab University, and designed and directed by Dr. Navdeep Kaur, the play brought history and culture to life through music, dance, and powerful performances.

Panjab University celebrated World Environment Day with widespread plantation drives, eco-pledges, and a cleanliness Plog Run across hostels and academic blocks.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig planted a sapling at the South Campus and motivated the university community to undertake extensive plantation during the upcoming monsoon season.

Students participated in poster-making and slogan-writing competitions, while the PU NSS and NCC Wings raised awareness about energy conservation and waste management across the campus.

In alignment with the initiative of the Chandigarh Administration, Panjab University observed its "Vehicle Free Wednesday" drive across the Sector 14 and 25 campuses today.

The campus community collectively refrained from using personal vehicles, opting instead for eco-friendly campus shuttle buses and e-rickshaws.

Dedicated NSS volunteers actively sensitised visitors and peers, promoting environmental sustainability and reducing vehicular pollution.

Important Update

Panjab University has declared a holiday on May 28, 2026, in place of May 27, 2026, on account of Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid), as the festival will be observed on May 28.

The holiday will be observed in all Teaching/Non-Teaching Departments/Offices of Panjab University Campus and all P.U. Regional/Rural Centres/Constituent Colleges, and all affiliated colleges of Panjab University located in Punjab & U.T. Chandigarh.

Please note, all the examinations scheduled on May 28, 2026 by Panjab University have been postponed to June 5, 2026.
