We are proud to share that Inderpreet Kaur (M.Com I), an NSS volunteer, represented our institution at the National Integration Camp (5th–11th January 2026) held at Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences, Karnataka.

She actively participated in a range of cultural and social activities, including a speech on the culture of Chandigarh and Punjab, Nati dance, poem recitation, and a street play on “One Health Programme.” She also contributed to community service through a cleanliness drive at Honkarvalli village, Shramadana, and food service with her team.

Inderpreet attended sessions on cybercrime awareness and defence training, delivered a morning flag hoisting speech, and gained valuable exposure through visits to ISRO, rural villages, and cultural sites, where she also engaged with farmers during field activities.

This achievement was made possible under the continuous guidance of our Principal, Dr. Neeru Malik, and NSS Programme Officers, Dr. Nisha Singla and Mrs. Seema Sharma.

The Women Cell of the college organised a session on Safe Migration-Jagruk Jao programme, an awareness initiative aimed at promoting safe, orderly, and regular migration for students and workers. The Jagruk Jao initiative is supported by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), a United Nations agency, and is managed and implemented by DataLEADS. The resource person for the session was Mr. Saurabh Duggal, an independent journalist based in Chandigarh who reports on sports and social issues, examining sport as a tool for social and economic empowerment in rural India. Before turning independent, he worked with Hindustan Times, Chandigarh, for over 15 and a half years, until January 15, 2021. He now contributes to BBC and other media platforms. He has received multiple fellowships to study the interface between sports and society, including the Inclusive Media–UNDP Fellowship (2015) on sports as a vehicle for social upliftment and women’s empowerment in rural Haryana, a 2016 fellowship on sports and life in rural Punjab, and a 2018 fellowship, supported by the International Centre for Research on Women, on child violence.
He won the National Award for Excellence in Sports Journalism in 2019 and received the Laadli Media Award for Gender Sensitivity in 2020 and 2022. He is the author of Akhada, the authorised biography of wrestling coach Mahavir Singh Phogat, on whose life the Bollywood film Dangal was based. The book has been translated into four regional languages, including Marathi, Gujarati, and Malayalam. Principal Prof. Dr. Neeru Malik welcomed Mr. Saurabh Duggal and thanked him for such an eye opening session.

We are proud to share that our student and a Boxing player Ms Priyanka and Panjab University Boxing team contingent has brought Laurels by winning the Gold Medal in All India Inter University Boxing Championship held under the aegis of Association of Indian University. With this she has also qualified for the Khelo India University Games.

The NSS Units of Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector-45 B, Chandigarh organized a Blood Donation Awareness Session on 14 March 2026 to sensitize students about the importance of voluntary blood donation and its life-saving impact.
The session was conducted by Mr. Vikas, an active NSS Volunteer, Girls Ambassador, and State Awardee, who has been working as a dedicated social worker for the past four years. He is also the Founder of “Project Kartavya (2023)” and is currently leading a mission focused on Blood Donation Awareness and the formation of an Emergency Blood Donors Team in Chandigarh in collaboration with the NSS State Cell, Chandigarh.
During the session, Mr. Vikas explained the significance of voluntary blood donation and highlighted how a single unit of blood can save several lives. He also addressed common myths and misconceptions related to blood donation and encouraged students to become responsible donors and support people in times of medical emergencies.
The session inspired students to understand their role in community service and motivated them to contribute towards this noble cause.
The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Nisha Singla, NSS Programme Officer, who continuously motivates students to participate in meaningful social initiatives. The NSS Units also express their sincere gratitude to Principal Prof. (Dr.) Neeru Malik for her constant encouragement and support in organizing such socially relevant awareness programs.
The session concluded with enthusiastic participation from the students, who appreciated the informative and motivating discussion on the importance of blood donation.

The NSS Units of Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector-45 B, Chandigarh organized an HIV/AIDS Awareness Session on 14 March 2026 with the aim of spreading awareness among students about HIV/AIDS, its prevention, and the importance of informed and responsible behaviour.
The session was facilitated by Ms. Faarika Mehta, District Lead for the project “The Birds and Bees Talk”, an Adolescent Life Skills Program by Plan India. Through an engaging and informative discussion, she sensitized students about HIV/AIDS, its causes, modes of transmission, preventive measures, and the importance of breaking myths and stigma associated with the disease.
She was supported by dedicated volunteers Mr. Sahil Sandhu and Ms. Nandini Thakur, who actively assisted in conducting the session and encouraged student participation through interactive discussions.
The program was organized under the guidance of Dr. Nisha Singla, NSS Programme Officer, who motivated the students to actively participate and gain valuable knowledge from the session.
The NSS Units also express their sincere gratitude to Principal Prof. (Dr.) Neeru Malik for her constant encouragement and support in organizing such awareness programs that contribute to the holistic development and well-being of students.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion where students actively engaged with the facilitators and gained deeper insights into the importance of awareness, prevention, and responsible health practices.

MOSAIC 2026 ✨

Dev Samaj College for Women successfully hosted its Annual-cum-Cultural Fest MOSAIC 2026, transforming the campus into a vibrant hub of creativity, talent and celebration. The fest revolved around the theme “Colours of India and Beyond”, celebrating India’s rich cultural diversity while embracing global creativity.

The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Rajiv Kumar, IAS, Managing Director, H.P. Tourism Development Corporation. The occasion was graced by Guests of Honour Prof. (Dr.) Agnese Dhillon, Chairperson, Governing Body DSCW-45; Mr. Maanvinder Singh Mangat, Secretary DSCW-45; Dr. Jaspal Kaur, Advisor DSCW-45; and Dr. Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat, Principal, Ishwar Singh Dev Samaj Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh, in the esteemed presence of Prof. (Dr.) Neeru Malik, Principal of the College.

MOSAIC 2026 featured 16 competitions including Mr. & Ms. Mosaic, Rhythms of Region, Nach Baliye, Melody Marathon, Blue Bharat, Rang for Responsibility, Waste to Wealth, Reel Out Loud, Giggle & Groove, The Ultimate Makeover, Polish & Pride, and India Through My Lens.

The Electoral Literacy Club set up a patriotic-themed selfie point to promote democratic awareness.

Raj (Chandigarh University) won Mr. Mosaic 2026 while Vanshika Thakur (Dev Samaj College for Women) was crowned Ms. Mosaic 2026. Deep Singh (GGDSD College) and Aarav (Chandigarh University) were first and second runners-up in the boys’ category, while Meharpreet Kaur (GGSCW-26) and Palak (DSCW) were first and second runners-up in the girls’ category.

The fest also featured 55 stalls by budding entrepreneurs and Tricity brands along with 20 food stalls.

The celebrations concluded with a high-energy live performance by Punjabi sensation Dilpreet Dhillon, bringing MOSAIC 2026 to a spectacular close.

The college, vibrated with intellectual energy, as the D-Masters’ Club and the Women Cell jointly organized a transformative workshop titled "From Self-Doubt to Self-Definition: Communication as Empowerment." The event, hosted by this premier NAAC Accredited Grade ‘A’ institution to mark the celebration of International Women’s Day, focused on the pivotal role of articulate expression in shaping personal identity and overcoming internal barriers.
The session commenced with a gracious floral welcome extended by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Neeru Malik, to the esteemed resource person, Dr. Vishakha Goyal. In her introductory address, Dr. Malik lauded the collaborative efforts of the organizing committees, emphasizing that such initiatives are vital for the holistic development of young women in a competitive global landscape.
Dr. Vishakha Goyal, an Assistant Professor of English at Punjabi University, Patiala, brought a unique interdisciplinary perspective to the stage. As a poet and translator fluent in six languages, her scholarly engagement with the aesthetics of Indian Mushā'irahs and her experience interviewing literary giants provided a rich backdrop for her discourse. She spoke eloquently on how language serves as a prism for self-discovery, moving the audience from the shadows of self-doubt toward a clear, empowered self-definition.
The seminar was far from a traditional lecture; it was a vibrant, interactive experience. Dr. Goyal utilized a series of innovative games and activities to demonstrate the nuances of effective communication. These exercises encouraged participants to step out of their comfort zones, fostering an environment of mutual support and confidence. By the conclusion of the event, students had gained not only theoretical insights into the evolution of language but also practical tools to use their voices as instruments of empowerment. The seminar successfully reinforced the idea that true communication is the foundation of personal and professional agency.

The Rotaract Club of the college organized an Environment Awareness Campaign on 22nd February, 2026 at Sukhna Club with the aim of encouraging people to adopt eco-friendly habits and promote environmental conservation. The campaign actively engaged passersby and visitors to spread awareness about the importance of protecting nature and maintaining a clean environment.
The campaign not only helped spread awareness but also strengthened the spirit of community participation. It provided an opportunity for the Rotaract members to connect with the public and motivate them to become responsible citizens who care for the planet.
Principal Madam, Prof.(Dr.)Neeru Malik appreciated Rotaractors for undertaking an impactful initiative and encouraged them to organise such activities in future for promoting environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

The college celebrated Akshay Urja Diwas on February 28, 2026, with enthusiasm and a strong commitment to sustainable energy. Centred on the theme “Our Power, Our Planet,” the event underscored the importance of renewable energy in addressing climate change and safeguarding the environment.
The programme was held under the esteemed blessings of Prof. (Dr.) Agnese Dhillon, Chairperson, Dev Samaj College Managing Committee and Secretary, Dev Samaj, and in the gracious presence of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Neeru Malik. The Chief Guest, Dr. Suman Mor, Professor, Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University, shared valuable insights on renewable energy innovations and their critical role in ensuring planetary health. Dr. Shikha Bahri, Assistant Professor, Dev Samaj College of Education, Chandigarh, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour, urging students to integrate clean energy practices into daily life and academic pursuits.
Organised by the Epsilon Club, Mathematics Club and NSS Units, and sponsored by the Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science & Technology Promotion Society (CREST), the event featured interactive sessions, expert talks and inter-college competitions. Faculty members and students from institutions across the region participated enthusiastically, fostering a collaborative spirit for environmental conservation.

The college under the esteemed blessings of Prof (Dr) Agnese Dhillon, Chairperson, Dev Samaj College Managing Committee and Secretary, Dev Samaj held its 40th Annual Athletic Meet on 27th February 2026. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Dr. Sukhjinder Rishi, Director, Youth Welfare, Panjab University, Chandigarh as the Chief Guest. College Kabaddi and Weightlifting stars of the college, Nitika, Kritika Rana, Ritika , Shagun, Diksha and Nikita carried the baton. Saloni, Jaya and Sunaina All- India Kabaddi players rode the motorcycle with the National Flag leading the March Past contingents of various departments of the colleges. The chief guest received the salute from various March Past contingents .The oath was administered by Navjot Chaudhary of BA II, a weightlifting National champion of the college. Thereafter, the Athletic Meet was declared open by the chief guest. The finals of various events, including races Shot Put, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, and Long Jump, were conducted throughout the day. A multitude of students participated with fervour in the Sports Meet, showcasing their athleticism and spirit. Alongside conventional events, entertaining races such as the Potato Race, Three-Legged Race, Sack Race, and Chaati Race were successfully organised. Fancy Dress Competition added vibrancy to the athletic meet, eliciting cheers from the spectators. The Inter-Class Tug of War emerged as a highly participated event, with numerous girls outnumbering their counterparts from other classes. A noteworthy highlight was the Staff Vs-students Tug of War, which garnered significant attention and enthusiasm. Another highlight of the day was health focussed Yakult counter distributing drink to the athletes promoting health and wellness throughout the event.
For the valedictory session Dr Shiv Singh, Dronacharya Awardee and former Head coach, Indian Women’s Boxing Team graced the event as the Chief Guest and Dr Rakesh Malik, Director, Directorate of Sports, Panjab University, Chandigarh as the Guest of Honor. In presence were Shri Karamvir Singh Buttar, Weightlifting coach, Shri Balpreet Singh, Rugby Coach, Siddarth Choudhary, Marathon trainer and Shubham Mishra, Co-Founder, Punjabi Runners as the special guests on the occasion. Prof (Dr) Neeru Malik accorded a floral welcome to the esteemed guests.
Dr. Surinder Kaur, Head, Department of Physical Education and Sports, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and presented a comprehensive report on the college's sports activities. Mr. Joginder Singh, the erstwhile athletic coach honoured the occasion as a distinguished guest, adding prestige to the event. All contingents were collectively adjudged the best in March Past.
The accolade for Best Athlete of the Session 2025-26 was bestowed upon Nikita of Diploma in Beauty & Wellness. The Sports Day, replete with diverse races and engaging activities, captivated the audience and garnered widespread applause.
