Sri Guru Gobind Singh Hockey Club Sector 26, Chandigarh, Men’s Hockey Team defeated Rock Rovers Hockey Club 8–2 in the opening match of the Chandigarh State Senior Hockey Championship played at Sector 42 Sports Complex, Chandigarh on June 17, 2026 (Wednesday). In the second match too, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Hockey Club, Men's Team again successfully defeated AG Panjab 4-1 and reached the semi-final match which was played on Jun 23, 2026 (Monday) against Wanderers Club.
Principal Dr Jaswinder Singh appreciated the team in charges, Dr Gurcharan Singh Gill and Dr Amolak Singh along with Coach Harshpreet Singh in leading the team towards consistent victory.

17 ਜੂਨ 2026 ਨੂੰ ਸੈਕਟਰ-42 ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ, ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿਖੇ ਖੇਡੇ ਗਏ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਹਾਕੀ ਕਲੱਬ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਰਾਕ ਰੋਵਰਜ਼ ਹਾਕੀ ਕਲੱਬ ਨੂੰ 8–2 ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਫਰਕ ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾਇਆ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੂਜੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਏ.ਜੀ. ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ 4–1 ਨਾਲ ਮਾਤ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸੈਮੀਫਾਈਨਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਸੈਮੀਫਾਈਨਲ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ 23 ਜੂਨ 2026 ਨੂੰ ਵਾਂਡਰਰਜ਼ ਕਲੱਬ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਖੇਡ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਚਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਿੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਅਮੋਲਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਕੋਚ ਹਰਸ਼ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ।

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College Observed “Aasad Sangrand” and Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji: Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Chandigarh, observed the Sangrand of the month of Aasad, along with the sacred martyrdom day of the Fifth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. The programme was organised by the Gurmat Vichaar Sabhaa to commemorate Guru Sahib’s supreme sacrifice and to reflect upon the spiritual significance of "Aasad Sangrand".
The programme commenced with the recitation of “Barah Maha Path”, followed by “Ardaas”, seeking the well-being of humanity and guidance to follow the path shown by the Gurus. Special homage was paid to Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, whose martyrdom remains a timeless symbol of courage, faith, and unwavering commitment to truth and justice.
Principal Dr Jaswinder Singh emphasised that both “Aasad Sangrand” and the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji offer an opportunity to imbibe the Guru’s ideals of selfless service, resilience, tolerance and dedication to the welfare of society. He appreciated Dr Sukhjinder Kaur, Mr Harmanpreet Singh and the team for marking the occasion, while reinforcing the Sikh principles of equality, community service and collective remembrance. The programme concluded with “Tea Langar”.

ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਬਾਰਹ ਮਾਹਾ ਪਾਠ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤ ਹਿੰਮਤ, ਸੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਸਾੜ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਰਾਂਦ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਸਵਾਰਥ ਸੇਵਾ, ਸਹਿਣਸ਼ੀਲਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਭਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਆਦਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਡਾ. ਸੁਖਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਹਰਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਹ ਦਾ ਲੰਗਰ ਵੀ ਵਰਤਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।

SRI GURU GOBIND SINGH COLLEGE HELD AN ORIENTATION SESSION ON SIR 2026:
Sri Guru Gobind Singh College held an online Training Programme titled "Orientation Session on Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026" on June 13, 2026, for the faculty members and non-teaching staff of the college organised by The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of the College. The programme aimed to create awareness regarding the importance and implementation of the SIR initiative among the participants.
Resource person, Dr Suraj Thapa, National Level Master Trainer of the Election Commission of India from the Chief Electoral Office, UT Chandigarh, sensitised the participants about the various phases of the SIR programme. He shared the important dates and timelines, procedures involved in voter registration, draft electoral roll awareness and the facility of booking calls with Booth Level Officers (BLOs). He highlighted that the primary objective of SIR is to ensure that electoral rolls remain accurate and updated by adding eligible voters and removing ineligible or duplicate entries.
Principal Dr Jaswinder Singh addressed the participants and appreciated the efforts of Dr Soma De, Nodal Officer, Electoral Literacy Club in organising the awareness programme. He emphasised the significance of such initiatives in strengthening democratic participation and encouraged all staff members to actively participate in the SIR process. He also urged them to motivate their family members, students, friends, and neighbours to complete the Enumeration Form as well as Form 6 and Form 8 wherever applicable.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from the college community. Around 70 participants, including faculty members and non-teaching staff members attended the online orientation programme.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ 13 ਜੂਨ, 2026 ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੈਰ-ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸਟਾਫ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਔਨਲਾਈਨ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ "ਓਰੀਐਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਔਨ ਸਪੈਸ਼ਲ ਇੰਟੈਂਸਿਵ ਰਿਵੀਜ਼ਨ (ਐਸ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ.) 2026" ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਇਲੈਕਟੋਰਲ ਲਿਟਰੇਸੀ ਕਲੱਬ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਸ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੇ ਅਮਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।

ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਚੋਣ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਸਟਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਚੋਣ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ, ਯੂ.ਟੀ. ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਰ ਡਾ. ਸੂਰਜ ਥਾਪਾ, ਨੇ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਐਸ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪੜਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਤਾਰੀਖਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਂ-ਸੀਮਾਵਾਂ, ਵੋਟਰ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆਵਾਂ, ਡਰਾਫਟ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੂਥ ਲੈਵਲ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ (ਬੀ.ਐਲ.ਓ.) ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲਾਂ ਬੁੱਕ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਐਸ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਯੋਗ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਯੋਗ ਜਾਂ ਡੁਪਲੀਕੇਟ ਐਂਟਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਾ ਕੇ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਪਡੇਟ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਹੈ।

ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਲੈਕਟੋਰਲ ਲਿਟਰੇਸੀ ਕਲੱਬ ਦੇ ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫਸਰ ਡਾ. ਸੋਮਾ ਡੇ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰੀ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ 'ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਟਾਫ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਐਸ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਗਰਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ, ਦੋਸਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਣਨਾ ਫਾਰਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਫਾਰਮ 6 ਅਤੇ ਫਾਰਮ 8 ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੋਵੇ, ਭਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ। ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੈਰ-ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸਟਾਫ ਦੇ ਕੁੱਲ 70 ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਔਨਲਾਈਨ ਓਰੀਐਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ।
