Department of History, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, Chandigarh in collaboration with the Bhai Kahn Singh Library of the College organised a seminar on ' The Life and Works of Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha' to commemorate Punjabi Maah 2021.
Major Adarshpal Singh, great grandson of Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha was the Guest of Honour. He narrated some little known anecdotes from the great scholar’s life, traced out some interesting entries from “Mahankosh”, the seminal work by Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha, and donated a picture of Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha to the College Library.
Dr Jagmail Singh, an eminent Punjabi scholar , was the Keynote Speaker. He has to his credit more than 30 years of research on the life and works of Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha. In his speech, he highlighted the contribution of Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha to Sikhism, Punjabi language and literature, classical music and knowledge gathering. He also donated two books based on Bhai Sahib’s life to the College Library.
The Management, SES encouraged the students and teachers to take inspiration from the noble deeds and selfless ideals of Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha. Dr Navjot Kaur, Principal urged everyone present to emulate Bhai Sahib in his insatiable quest for knowledge.
A Special Feature of the event was the exhibition of books on the life and works of Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha displayed in the College Library.
