Among the prominent educational institutions that Chandigarh can boast of, Shishu Niketan Model Sr. The school was founded by Mrs. S Khorana in 1953, when the City Beautiful was in its infancy and educational facilities were yet to come up. It was first recognised by the Department of Education in 1960, now permanently recognised and also affiliated to C.BS.E. The school is imparting education to around 5000 students in Sector 22-D in the heart of City Beautiful,
