Yesterday, the Chandigarh University Liberian Students Association (CULSA) proudly joined the Nigerian students at Chandigarh University in celebrating their Independence Day.

The event was a beautiful celebration of culture, unity & friendship, providing an opportunity for Liberian and Nigerian students to strengthen their bonds and celebrate our shared identity as Africans.

CULSA appreciates & values the Nigerian Students Association at CU for the warm invitation and collaboration.

The first ever inauguration of the Rayat Bharat University Liberian Students Association (RBLSA) is now in the history books. 📕 ( September 5, 2026 )

Chandigarh University Liberian Students Association ( CULSA ) was fully represented at this auspicious ceremony 🙌🏿.

CULSA being a pioneer of the Association of All Liberians students in India ( ALSI ) welcomed the newly elected officials into office, leaving with them leadership wisdom and financial support they’ll need in their endeavor in order to stair the affairs of this humble and enthusiastic rising chapter. 🙌🏿

The students of CULSA and RBLSA had always shared a remarkable relationship over the years and this day serves as a milestone that’ll promote an even stronger bond. 🤝

Meet Aloysius D. Kweejay,
a passionate Medical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Microbiologist, researcher, and health educator dedicated to advancing laboratory medicine, infectious disease diagnostics, and public health.

Driven by a commitment to scientific excellence, Aloysius earned his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Medical Laboratory Science in 2023, establishing a strong foundation in clinical laboratory practice, microbiology, hematology, clinical chemistry, parasitology, and diagnostic medicine. His passion for infectious diseases and laboratory science inspired him to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Microbiology at Chandigarh University, India, which he successfully completed in 2026.

During his postgraduate studies, he developed advanced expertise in clinical microbiology, bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, infection prevention and control, and modern laboratory diagnostic techniques. His academic training reflects a strong commitment to improving disease diagnosis, combating antimicrobial resistance, and strengthening public health systems.

Beyond academics, Aloysius is deeply committed to research, education, and healthcare capacity building. Through his involvement with HealthBridge Liberia, he supports initiatives that promote professional development, knowledge sharing, and international collaboration among healthcare professionals and students.

With professional interests spanning infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, emerging diagnostic technologies, laboratory research, and healthcare innovation, Aloysius is determined to contribute to stronger diagnostic services, enhanced disease surveillance, and improved patient care in Liberia and beyond.

Join us in celebrating the remarkable journey of Sam Saah Kendema, a distinguished Liberian economist, researcher, and education technology professional committed to advancing economic development, innovation, and evidence-based policymaking.

Sam earned a Bachelor of Science in Banking and Finance from Rauf Denktaş University in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus before pursuing a Master of Arts in Economics (Public Policy and Governance) at Chandigarh University, India. His academic journey reflects a deep commitment to understanding the intersection of economics, governance, finance, and public policy.

With research interests spanning macroeconomic policy, public governance, financial systems, artificial intelligence in economics, and sustainable development, Sam has made meaningful contributions to policy-oriented research. His academic work explores monetary policy transmission mechanisms in Liberia and the transformative role of artificial intelligence in enhancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, demonstrating his dedication to addressing contemporary economic and governance challenges through innovation.

Beyond academia, Sam has served as a Teaching and Research Assistant and has played an instrumental role in advancing digital education and institutional management systems in Liberia through TEC Liberia. By combining economic analysis, policy research, and educational technology, he continues to promote data-driven decision-making and strengthen institutional capacity.

Passionate about economic development, public sector reform, digital transformation, higher education, and applied policy research, Sam remains committed to creating innovative solutions that support sustainable growth and national development.

Congratulations to Obediah Bango Freeman on his outstanding academic achievement!

Originally from B**g County, Liberia, Obediah earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Liberia in 2022 before pursuing higher education in India. He successfully completed his Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering at Chandigarh University, equipping himself with advanced knowledge and technical expertise to address modern engineering challenges.

Beyond academics, Obediah demonstrated exceptional leadership by serving as the Minister of Education for the Chandigarh University Liberian Student Association (CULA) under the leadership of President S. Courage Zekpeh. In this role, he collaborated with fellow student leaders to promote academic excellence and advance the welfare of Liberian students studying at Chandigarh University.

Driven by a passion for structural engineering and sustainable infrastructure, his master’s research explored innovative solutions for mitigating wind-induced vibrations in tall buildings, focusing on the application of overhead water tanks as a vibration control system. His work reflects a commitment to developing practical engineering solutions that improve the resilience and safety of modern structures.

Obediah extends his heartfelt appreciation to his mentors, family, and friends for their unwavering encouragement and support throughout his academic journey. In 2026, Charleston graduated with Distinction from the Department of Economics, University School of Business, Chandigarh University, India, earning a Master’s degree in Economics with a strong focus on evidence-based policymaking.

His academic journey began at the University of Liberia, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the A. Romeo School of Business and Public Administration in 2021. Prior to that, he completed his secondary education at St. Pius X Catholic School in Harbel, Lower Margibi County, obtaining his High School Diploma and WAEC (now WASSCE) certificate.

The event was a remarkable display of unity, cultural diversity, and the enduring spirit of independence. It brought together students from different nationalities to celebrate South Sudan’s journey while promoting friendship, mutual respect, and international collaboration within the university community.
