In the "Six Limbs of Chinese Painting" Spirit Resonance is the most significant.It means the life force, spirit, and energy of the subject must come through. A painting or a portrait that highlights the soul of the scene/person can be one where spirit resonates.it is the ultimate parameter to measure the success of an artist. Without it, technique is empty.

Hats off to dear friend Tej Bans Singh Jauhar Sahib for his enlightening creative urge that transcends the barriers of physical world to manifest the mystical powers of the soul.

Sacred Heart Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Ravinder Sharma Art Academy, recently blossomed into a vibrant haven of creativity as it hosted an inspiring Collage Making Art Workshop for its students. Centered around the evocative theme “Bounteous Nature,” the workshop unfolded as a celebration of the abundance, harmony, and silent wisdom that nature bestows upon humankind.

Guided by Ravinder Sharma, Founder Director of RSAA, the session was not merely a technical exploration of collage-making but a soulful journey into values and virtues that nurture a deeper connection with life. His intent resonated beautifully with the young minds—encouraging them to see art not just as an act of creation, but as a means of cultivating sensitivity, gratitude, and aesthetic awareness.

The presence of Monika Nangru, the dedicated and talented art teacher of Sacred Heart School, further enriched the experience. Her encouraging guidance inspired students to transcend conventional boundaries and immerse themselves wholeheartedly in the process, making the most of this meaningful artistic engagement.

The workshop highlighted how the collage technique, when harmoniously blended with other painting methods, opens doors to multidimensional exploration. It empowers the young “explorer” to piece together fragments of imagination and reality into unified expressions of thought and emotion. The enthusiastic and overwhelming response of the students stood as a testament to the success of the workshop, reflecting not only technical curiosity but also an awakened sensitivity towards nature’s generosity and interconnectedness.

Heartfelt gratitude is extended to Sr. Venita Joseph, Principal of Sacred Heart Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh, whose visionary encouragement and deep concern for holistic education made this enriching experience possible. Her commitment to nurturing creativity ensures that students continue to gain new skills while also evolving emotionally and spiritually through art.

As the workshop concluded, it left behind more than just artworks—it planted seeds of awareness and appreciation. In the spirit of this creative awakening, the words of Rabindranath Tagore resonate deeply:
“The highest education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life in harmony with all existence.”

Such initiatives reaffirm that art is not merely taught—it is awakened, experienced, and lived.

Contemplation gathers the quiet truths within, shaping thoughts into meaning. From this inner stillness, expression emerges—clear, honest, and alive—transforming reflection into voice, form, and creative presence in the world.

An emotional ode to Mahashivratri !

Some enlightening moments spent in the sunshine of Dr. Sukhmani Kaur’s abstract paintings.

Emotions turn crystalline and glow in myriad hues in her paintings. At times, these emotions transform into a mystic river, flowing from the mundane to the divine realms of eternal delight.

A recipient of prestigious awards and honours, Dr. Sukhmani Kaur is a self-made artist and an art therapist. She firmly believes that by doing what one loves, one can inspire and awaken the hearts of others.

While talking to her about her paintings, the words of an anonymous author came to my mind:
“Art therapy invites people to remember who they are beneath their symptoms.”
Certainly, her abstract paintings lead consciousness from a personal to an impersonal state of being.

Humility and grace which she earned in moulding materials into expressive forms will enable her to be a role model to her students.
