DAV College Handball Court was inaugurated by Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS, Director Higher Education, UT Administration here today. The inauguration ceremony began with ribbon cutting and Penalty shoot by the Chief Guest. The other prominent people present were Dr. Dalip Singh, ASPD- RUSA and Mr. Ravinder Singh Bawa, District Sports Officer, UT Administration.

The Handball Court is very rare in India as being all weather outdoor handball court. The project was funded by Rashtriya Uchhttar Shiksha Abhiyaan (RUSA),Chandigarh Administration .The total cost of the project was 50 lakhs. 38.7 lakhs was received from RUSA and rest expenditure was incurred by college. Dr. B.C. Josan applauded the role of UT Administration in creating world class infrastructure in the College. He also requested to continue their support to develop world class infrastructure.

Mr. Atul Kumar who recently represented India in the Asian Games held in Jakarta was also present. He said it is nice that UT Administration and DAV College did a commendable job for making Handball Court of International Standard. This will certainly help the upcoming handball players in future. Atul is also alumni of this college
