7 DAY NSS CAMP HELD AT GGSCW-26*
The NSS Unit of GGSCW-26 organized a seven-day Special Camp from 28th December, 2024 to 3rd January, 2025, with the theme "Youth for My Bharat and Youth for Digital Literacy."
Key activities included lectures, video sessions, and experience-sharing on topics like digital literacy, healthy habits, and social responsibility. Eminent speakers such as Nemi Chandi (NSS SLO), Mr. Abhinav Dogra (Career Counseling), Ms. Jasbir Kaur (Cybersecurity for Women), Dr. Savneet Bedi (Social Media Use), Mr. Harman Singh Sian (Financial Literacy), and Ms. Madahvi Rana (Mental Health) enriched the sessions.
Volunteers conducted a door-to-door survey, an awareness drive among hostellers, and engaged in activities like card-making and presented a Nukkad Natak in Kishangarh on the theme of digital literacy. The camp also featured a visit to Sukhna Lake to raise awareness. This impactful event strengthened the spirit of community service and youth empowerment amongst the participants.

As part of the nationwide Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign, our college organized a series of activities aimed at promoting cleanliness and environmental awareness among students and staff. The NSS volunteers of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women initiated Swachhta hi Seva on September 17, focusing on various activities aimed at promoting health and nutrition. Key activities include:
1. Poster making : Volunteers made posters emphasizing the benefits of a healthy diet, including visuals of food groups, meal planning tips, and awareness slogans. This creative activity helped spread the message across campus.
2. Workshop on Health and Hygiene: Conducted by community helpers from GMSS 32, this workshop will educate participants about essential health practices.
3. Menstrual Health Awareness: Volunteers engaged with young girls at the government school in Kishangarh (adopted village) to raise awareness about menstruation and related health topics.
4. Tree Plantation Drive: Aiming to enhance environmental health, volunteers participated in tree planting activities.
5. Awareness Rally: A rally will be organized to disseminate information on health and hygiene to the community.
6. Dengue Awareness Drive: Mr Ashwini, Civil hospital Manimajra guided NSS volunteers about the prevention of breeding of dengue mosquito.

The NSS and Psychology Department jointly organized a lecture on World Su***de Prevention Day, with Dr. Savneet as the resource person. The session aimed to raise awareness about mental health issues and the importance of su***de prevention. Dr. Savneet discussed the psychological, social, and emotional factors contributing to su***de and emphasized the significance of early intervention, support systems, and destigmatizing mental health challenges. One hundred and three volunteers actively engaged in the discussion, learning about coping strategies and ways to help those in crisis. Additionally, a signature campaign was held to spread awareness on su***de prevention, encouraging participants to pledge their support for mental health advocacy.
