Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, Chandigarh
NSS units of SGGS College in collaboration with NCC, Institution Innovation Council, Unnat Bharat Abhyan and Legal Literacy Club organized the 77th Independence Day Flag Hoisting Ceremony in the SGGS Collegiate Public School Ground near Bebe Nanaki Park on Aug 15, 2023 to commemorate 76 years of cherished freedom as well as paying of tribute to our "Motherland" and Veers' under the flagship campaign "Meri Maati Mera Desh".
Principal Dr Navjot Kaur started the Flag Hoisting ceremony followed by Rashtragan which was witnessed by more than 100 NSS and NCC volunteers along with 20 faculty members.
The event was marked by a cultural programme including dance performances and songs on patriotism. Lastly, all the participants were served with the refreshments.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, sector 26, Chandigarh has celebrated 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign by taking out a 'Prabhat Peri' from College campus to Sukhna Lake at 7:00am to 8:30am in the morning today (12/8/2022). A total of 62 NSS and NCC (both Army and Naval) volunteers along with 5 faculty members enthusiastically participated in this 'Prabhat Peri' to create and spread awareness about the patriotism.

On the occasion of "World Environment Day" NSS Unit in collaboration with Innovation Cell, Dharat Suhavi Environment Society and Solid Waste Management Committee organised an awareness session on "ENTREPRENEURIAL AVENUES IN E-WASTE MANAGEMENT" on 2nd June, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.

NSS unit in collaboration with Department of Physical Education and Sports under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affair and Sports organizes a 'Bicycle Rally' (from Sukhna lake to High Court) to celebrate 'World Bicycle Day-2022' on 3rd June, 2022.

Venue: Sukhna Lake
Time: 6 A.M.
Date: 3rd June, 2022

The objective of this rally is to use bicycle as a simple, affordable and environment friendly means of travelling feasible distances.

This session began with the welcome address by Programme Officer Dr Rohit Sharma. Chief Guest Mr Devender Singh Chauhan, Range Forest Officer, Dept of Forests and Wildlife, UT Administration, Chandigarh), shared the stories of his rare adventures in Trans Himalayan areas, and also the invaluable experiences of his work in Lahol Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh. He informed the students about the direct impact of the forest and wildlife of upper Himachal and Leh-Ladakh areas on the whole north-Indian region. The event ended with volunteers’ cultural performances and a Vote of Thanks by Dr Anupama Vashisht, NSS PO.

Day 6-09/03/22 NSS Special Camp (4th to 10th March,2022)

Day 6 was dedicated to the Alumni of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sec 26, Chandigarh. In the first lecture cm workshop, Mr Hardeep, Video Journalist, Scroll, Punjab News Channel, traced the history of famous Punjabi dance form Bhangra, and specified its significance in Punjabi culture and heritage. Afterwards, he taught several skills of Bhangra to NSS volunteers.

The second Alumni session was based on the Art of Theatre. This event was graced by several famous personalities Mr Amolak, Ms Anita Shabdeesh, Mrs Raj Dhaliwal and Mr Nirbhai Dhaliwal, all theatre artists, actors and directors. They shared their experiences in cinema world and encouraged the enthusiastic students to follow their dreams.

After having their lunch, all volunteers under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers proceeded towards the adopted village Kaimbwala where they first the Shmt Jaswinder Kaur, Councillor, Ward no 1, Village Kaimbwala, Chandigarh. She briefed them how the man power of NSS team of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College can work for the upliftment of the adopted village, and also enumerated a number of tasks in which the mental and physical strength of NSS volunteers can be utilised. Afterwards, NSS volunteers took a round of the village during their rally on the central themes of this NSS camp – Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Jal Shakti Abhiyan. A nukkad natak was also staged by the volunteers focussing on the theme of excessive wastage of water by the present generation.
