We are thrilled to share that "Vantage Point: Narratives of Our Illustrious Alumni" has been a great success, and we owe it to the inspiring success stories of our distinguished alumni like you. As we continue to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our alumni, we are excited to present the success story of Prof. Vivek Dua, Batch of 1993. Prof. Vivek Dua’s journey is a testament to the dedication, innovation, and excellence that our alumni embody.

Vivek Dua obtained BE (Chemical Engineering) from Panjab University Chandigarh in 1993 and MTech (Chemical Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 1995. He is recipient of the National Award for the Best MTech Thesis in Chemical Engineering awarded by the Indian Society for Technical Education and supported by the Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited. After obtaining the MTech degree, he worked as a Process Engineer at Kinetics Technology India Limited and then joined Imperial College London in 1996 where he obtained PhD (Chemical Engineering) in 2000. He worked as a Research Associate at Imperial College London (2000-2002) and as an Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (2002-2003). He was appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at University College London (UCL) in 2004 and currently is Professor of Chemical Engineering at UCL. He is also the Deputy Head (Education) and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Chemical Engineering Department at UCL. His research interests are in the areas of developing computational modelling tools for solving process, energy, environment and healthcare systems engineering problems and has disseminated his research through more than 150 papers, conference proceedings, book chapters and presentations. His research activities are funded by grants from national research councils, overseas governments, industry and charities. His teaching activities include courses related to computational modelling and process design

Greetings and welcome to another inspiring edition of Vantage Point: Narratives of Our Illustrious Alumni. This series celebrates the remarkable journeys of our esteemed graduates and how their time at DCET has influenced their paths. Today, we are honored to feature a message from Dr. Manoj Ajbani, an eminent alumnus from the class of 1984. Join us as we delve into his experiences and the impact DCET has had on his illustrious career.
Dr. Manoj Ajbani earned his bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from DCET in 1984 and completed his PhD from the University of Akron, Ohio, in 1995. Akron is historically significant and known as the Rubber Capital of the World. Dr. Ajbani has extensive experience in the fields of polymers and composites, having held senior positions in the polymer industry. Notably, he served as the Global Technology Leader for High Performance Polymers & Composites at Celanese Corporation, where he developed and transformed the R&D organization to enable high growth in key verticals. During his tenure, he launched numerous innovative and differentiated high-temperature products and applications for the aerospace, electronics, and automotive industries, driving substantial growth. Dr. Ajbani also worked at LORD Corporation as Vice President of R&D, where he played a crucial role in developing the enterprise growth strategy and executing it through both organic and inorganic routes, facilitating significant growth for the company. Currently, he is the R&D Director at ITW Performance Polymers, USA. His leadership and expertise continue to drive advancements in polymer technology and contribute to the industry's growth and innovation.

Today, we are delighted to present a message from a distinguished alumnus of the 1966 batch, Dr. Inderjit Nirdosh.
Dr. Inderjit Nirdosh (B.Sc. 1966 Batch, M.Sc. 1968 batch) worked at Panjab, McMaster and Lakehead Universities and industry; is Professor Emeritus of Chemical Engineering at Lakehead, is Fellow of Chemical Institute of Canada; has 8 patents/155+ publications; supervised graduate/undergraduate students; was Consultant to international Corporations and Government Agencies, gave invited Lectures; received University's Distinguished Researcher Award; received Excellence in Teaching awards at University, Provincial and National levels and from Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities; organized cultural/social events since school days; is Founding President of a Charity (www.Raag-RungMusicCircle.com) promoting Indian classical music/dance in Canada for 45+ years with concerts by artists including Padma/Grammy award winner legends, raising funds for student scholarships, local Symphony and hospital; produced TV musicals; was recognized in national media; published 2 poetry books/5 ghazal/bhajan albums sung by legends from India/Pakistan; his lyrics published internationally; a prestigious literary Urdu magazine dedicated a complete volume to his poetry; his poetry/music available on a YouTube Channel, Kalaam-e-Nirdosh.
