8 th Poshan Pakhwada was organized by Chandigarh Institute for Transformation (State Support Mission) in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration at Multipurpose Hall, UT secretariat.
Our faculty members from GPW, Chandigarh attended the workshop scheduled from 16th to 23rd April 2026 as part of the initiative to promote healthy living.
Further, as a concluding session two competitions were conducted under the said programme on 23/4/2026.

Privileged to host an enlightening session on Mental Health Awareness & Stress Management ,conducted by the esteemed team of Doctors from the Department of Psychiatry Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research.
The session highlighted the importance of mental well-being, encouraged open conversations and helped in breaking the stigma associated with mental health. Our students and faculty greatly benefited from the insightful discussions and practical guidance shared by the experts.

On 22 April 2026, faculty staff and students gathered to celebrate Earth Day at Government Govt. Polytechnic for Women, Sec 10, Chandigarh .
The event featured a talk by Principal and a collective pledge ceremony. The event was addressed by our worthy Principal Mrs VIN DOSAJH, who successfully fostered a sense of collective responsibility, leaving participants motivated to treat every day as Earth Day through conscious choices.
The lecture addressed urgent issues such as climate change, pollution control, and the impact of single-use plastics.
Principal Mam emphasized the "6R’s Strategy"—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, Redesign, and Remanufacture—as a framework for sustainable living.
The session encouraged students and staff to share practical ideas for making their daily lives more eco-friendly.
The celebration concluded with a solemn pledge taken by all. Attendees vowed to plant more trees, reduce energy consumption, and eliminate plastic waste in their surroundings.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs Neetika Kapoor Incharge ENVIRONMENT CLUB GPW CHANDIGARH.
