CSE Souvenirs 2021

If you see a guy resembling Marcus Stoinis, driving and staring at others with the half window down "Tere Baap ki sadak hai..🌚🌚", and a diehard cricket lover that's Roll no. 82, Vaibhav Mahajan for you. Interning at Finxera and then bagging placement at Goldman Sachs💰, we think our Star is the muse for many bands like Imagine Dragons (especially the song: Believer). We call him Harvey Specter and some call him Thomas Shelby from Peaky Blinders because he looks rough and tough 💪 but not so much when it comes to cricket, where anyone can see his passion shine brighter than a supernova.

This guy has been a lifesaver 😉 for many of his friends during their difficult phases by constantly pushing them to work on themselves, recommending some motivational songs 🎶 from his fantastic playlist. He is chilled-out, perfectly serene, and never stresses out, always fun to hang out with. He willingly lends an ear only to give what could be the worst or the best advice (“ro matt”) you can ever get. Studying 📚 just one night before the exams and still managing amazing grades may seem baffling for some, but this is the norm for this "chikna" of ours.

If you have heard “Ben Stokes”, echoing in the halls of PEC, it is probably Vaibhav who is the source. He is the perfect bowler who can give you four quiet overs and a guaranteed wicket or two, and he will put up a fight every time he steps onto the field. One of the core members of our PEC cricket team, he has played a pivotal role in helping our college win various tournaments. His love for cricket is evident from the fact that he enjoys test cricket and never misses any of India's matches. A spinner who occasionally bats, he can be seen practicing with passion and sportsmanship. Off the field, he loves to sweat it out at the gym and 'The Stoin' loves to lift weights and the gains are quite visible on his lean but powerful stature. Vaibhav does not cancel plans usually, but if he does the major reason for it would be gym (cancelling obviously without telling his friends, then ignoring their phone calls and keeping everybody in doubt regarding the program).

Before coming to college your parents must have warned you to stay away from “some students”, Vaibhav is one of those people. But he also taught us a lot of good habits-like believing in the existence of God through his smooth driving skills by making us pray throughout our way to the destination. He would make your ride entertaining while commenting about all the people driving nearby him, passing comments such as “abe tere baap ki sadak hai kya? Dekh ke chala”. He is someone who would always be ready to pick you up or drop you at any place since the first year of college, even if you are not a close friend of his. He is always ready for an adventure, not worrying about missing classes and labs, convincing other friends how the trip is worth more than anything.

A huge admirer of tv series and movies, he is always ready with his list of recommendations. In the entire four years the only stories that we have seen on his instagram are of cricket and Peaky Blinders (now you know which 2 things he loves the most). Vaibhav is liked by all age groups, that’s his personality (in a group he’s the only one to be approached by balloon sellers). His pretty face is so pretty that even some guys find it hard to look away ;)
He is also very creative with his vocabulary and doesn’t restrict himself to the standard words: his list includes- System, Chhola, Lasan, Meetha, King, (Coco) Chanel, and a lot more (please DM him for the meanings xD)

From “Shy and a little plumpy” to “Chick magnet”, this chhola has come a long way, some growth being a result of constant tutoring (resulting in him getting more marks than the tutor herself xD) and burning the night oil on plethora of Buzzfeed’s predictions (2020 has brought MANY revelations for him). While a lot of his college journey can be attributed to inculcating the many values taught by our professors (including letter writing and songwriting ~“DJ Sh-” whoops), some growth is certainly a result of his (almost) month long cleanses after parties (Hello Mr. Fresher’s 2k17), he is the best friend we all need (not our liver) but don’t deserve. Always ready with the knowledge of all the good beer places in town, his cute face and his epic math aptitude might hide the fact that this King knows how to party xD There won't be a brand of whisky that you know and he hasn’t tried, he always gives you pumps to do crazy tasks and makes his puppy face to make you do them, which has made a lot of students try their “first pint of beer”. He always stands out at parties, where his “glass” is inseparable from him just like a “mother baby bond” (Just find a “glass” if you want to find him in party photos). But still after the party he will be more sober than a non drinker. An evening meeting with him mostly ends with a dose of Thunderbolt (his favorite beer, sigh).

He has also mastered the art of saving time by using Kevin’s small talk and by leaving people on read. He has had a crush on Emma Watson to an extent that his gallery has 100+ photos of her, he dms emma watson on her birthday in the hope of getting a reply, simultaneously ignoring the (approaching infinity) dms left unread/read on his own profile.

From sports to Super dream "Goldman Sachs" he has come a long way with lots of memories. Keep spreading that contagious smile that seems childish but is actually very mature.

“Guys” “Girlzzz” "boyzzz" “oh DAMN” “phaking sh*t” - if you happen to hear any of these phrases in your vicinity, there is no second guessing on who the person could be, it is none other than Armaan Verma.
If you've seen a 5 footish person checking out girlzzz while parallely searching them on Facebook, congrats, you've come across him! From not knowing what JEE Mains is to getting into PEC, from getting up at 8:55 for 9AM breakfast to eating early for a sponsored buffet, he's come a long way! Yes, you read it right, he brushes his teeth and gets fresh after his breakfast! Anyways he is only a button away from going to CRAP (as he says). He is one of the very few people who aim for perfect attendance in college and yet doze off at the last bench.

From the 'Alpines' of Daria to making 'L26' warmer, he's been the 'Pride' of Nayagaon! This fun loving fellow never leaves a chance to roast his friends. He loves performing his gymnastic stunts, be it on the Founders day at his school or on the beaches of Gokarna. His super energetic dance moves is what made our CSE Freshers party 'lit'. This guy is an all rounder in everything. From being a 10 SGPA scorer to being placed at Microsoft on day 0, he has done it all with a bang.You'll probably find it difficult to name a show/movie he hasn't watched, and mind you he provides some of the coolest movie recommendations apart from the ones related to zombies(because only he can relate to those). He lives every moment of his life to the fullest creating a perfect balance between his academics and social life.

He has his mood swings for alcohol but when set, he'll be in a state to almost die at the gates of Bella Vista, wondering whether he said goodbye to his 'friend'. For all the college projects, his life has revolved around XML pages which apparently he hasn't been able to use ever! We doubt if he even knows what XML pages are for! He is very fond of Puppies. Some of them even like their owner. Vaise koi ‘sense’ hai is baat ki? Ise bahut lag rahi thi us time. He is not at all scared to try his luck, no no not like everyone at poker, but in his own style at Sukhna. But as they say, it's not everyone's game! He's had some amazing encounters with guards of PEC, from apologizing them in underwear (only) to getting confessions for his library sittings! Library was the destination for his 'me time'. Really? 'Their' time, we think.

Throughout the four years, his biggest confusion has been the decision to go 'upar' or stay 'neeche' over the weekend! He's the one you can spot finding straight roads for his route so that he can define the number of autos for his journey! He'll call or wait for a call from his 'dad' for every little decision except the one that he takes on the last day before going ‘upar’ for a long period.

He thinks he's a Tech freak, but his friends know he's an Mi freak. You might've heard him saying "yaar car chalane ka man hi nahi karta" but the reality is that he's unable to touch the pedals while being seated. And if he's able to, he's so so lazy to adjust gears that his friends had almost given up on his ride from hostel to NAB.

While people of the Deemed University go for internship in their sixth semester, Armaan went for Aroma. He has a peculiar way of narrating horror stories while going to NFS. He is a connoisseur of eggs, We have seen him shifting from egg maggi in 1st yr to egg bhurji in 2nd yr and then to egg half fry in 3rd yr. We wonder what would have been the new dish for 4th yr if covid didn't happen. Also, he had this great fascination to grow his hair, which according to him was going to woo so many girls, but in reality it didn't apart from "the one". But this guy apart from being a weirdo also has an amiable personality.He is very approachable and can make strangers feel comfortable around him by providing them a warm and friendly environment.

This human can take on any challenge or a problem with a smile on his face even when his life went from “Pehli Nazar Mei” to “Chhanna Mereya” to “Chanda Mama Door ke” really fast. Having a zestful demeanor he can become your confidante after just one meeting. He is always the first person to ask for AUX cable and has an incessant keenness to be the group DJ. He is an extroverted person with a great sense of humor and one of the most reliable friends anyone can have.He’s had great time in the Deemed University while engaging in MegaShows and spending time at his favourite - PEC Market.

A complete package who tries to do everything with perfection is Armaan. He is one of a kind. In whatever mood one maybe, with him you feel at ease. He loves unconditionally and supports immensely. We know wherever he'll go he'll leave his mark and will achieve success! With this,we wish him all the success and happiness in life!

Parth Khungar a.k.a Khatron Ka Khiladi (?) is one of the most carefree people one can hope to meet. Notorious for his unsuccessful plans, ranging from Bali to Goa, and his famous line: “Bhai tu han to kar abhi ke abhi done kardunga tickets”, he has also surprisingly been part of some of my most memorable plans of college. From the impromptu Delhi trip, random gedis, bike riding during the Panchkula protests, molesting Gurcharan and seriously alarming shopaholic tendencies, Parth is someone who will be remembered by all his friends for being a specimen.

Parth is the guy that comes to your mind instantly when you want any kind of support be it emotionally or in mischief. He has the capability to make friends with a person in just one conversation, makes plans in two, and executes them in three. To give you a glimpse of how his brain functions, his most favorite thing to do during the exam season is to watch re-runs of the office.

“Sometimes I’ll start a sentence and I don’t even know where it’s going. I just hope I find it along the way - Michael Scott Season 5 The Duel. The same goes for Parth as much as he desires to be the quoted character. You tell him your mood, and he'll tell you to watch “The Office”.

Khungar is one of the liveliest humans from Chand ka Ghar Chandigarh. People like Parth are taking PEC ki disha Prakaash ki aur irl. From scamming people together to getting scammed by him, we made the best out of college life. It's so difficult to fit the countless things we have done over these years. He is a delight to watch during labs, specifically during evaluations and even one on one with professors (Those who know, know).

Aside from the f**kboi tendencies & unquenchable thirst for female company, Parth is a genuinely kind person to talk to. A very caring and reliable person, he never refuses for any kind of help. He'll treasure you if you are in his good books but won't take a moment to "huh" at you if annoy him. No matter the situation, he will be there to lift you up (mostly giving simping advices but still). Parth is a person who realizes his responsibilities towards his family, his career and near ones like no one else. It is quite evident from the instances where he has taken up life decisions very seriously and in a very calm and composed manner( like cancellation of The Goa Trip )

Parth has everything in abundance, the time for people he cares about, in giving happiness, in the tricks he can pull off (:)), in series recommendations (But only one holds a special place), and the patience to handle everyone who is intoxicated out of their mind.

This is for you Parth, let's make memories, let's record podcasts, let's go on long walks, and please let's go on that trip (It is subjected to Pandemic risks, please read all corona related documents carefully). Thank you for being there and so much more for being you.

Spotted a 5 foot ‘Tingu’ with the cutest smile always running late for her classes? This is NEHA. You might confuse this chota sa bacha in this college with a school going student. But as we say do not judge a book by its cover!! From making weird faces for winning the best dramebaaz award to winning coding competitions, she has done it all in this college. At first you may think of her as a very quiet person but once you start knowing her there is no turning back. She is so disciplined in her life that if she thinks of doing something she will achieve it no matter what. Also how can we forget her madness to stay fit? She sticks to the ‘early to bed, early to rise’ mantra. She never agrees to have oily food in the fear of getting a pimple.
A girl who believes in superstitions, she never steps out at 8:45am. So either she’ll be too early for the class or too late. This has got her into trouble many times, not just her but also other innocent people who are waiting for the red lights to turn green. Because she in her 80 ki speed (singing Dhoom Machale inside her helmet) is rushing her Activa and forgets that we need to stop at Red light and get smashed into a vehicle who is waiting for the lights to turn green.
How can we not talk about Coding when we are talking about Neha. No one can compete her love for coding. She is so much into knowing about new technologies, that you name a tool and you can bet that she would know about it. Failure can never stop her. She always learns and rises from it. Getting into Rubrik (wait is it Rubrik or Rubriks?) is just one example.Also, she is an awesome team leader. She gives cool, fun as well as inspirational vibes to the team. Along with academics, she knows very well how to enjoy each and every moment of her life. Being a day scholar, she fulfilled all her wishes of hanging around the city during her internship at Bangalore.
Talk about new challenges, this “Tingu” is always standing out there with open arms. And once she accepts the challenge, there is no looking back. She puts in all here commitment and dedication. Her ‘Never Give Up’ attitude is admired by all. She never lets any setbacks weaken her spirits and keeps hustling to achieve her goals. And this attitude of her just motivates the people around her to work super hard.
In the world of OTT platforms, this girl still watches daily soaps and HIndu mythological dramas.
While she mostly remains silent on whatsapp groups and meetings, her sudden witty remarks would leave you stunned. This innocent looking kid is always loaded with the latest juicy gossip and you would often find her talking about it with her friends. You will always find her asking for help when it comes to posing for pictures and she ends up getting 50 pictures in a row and not liking a single one of them.

Her constant smile, positive attitude towards everything and her dialogue ‘Chill kr bro’ is so awesome that it gives instant feel like ‘sab set hai’. And her amiable nature makes her a homie for everyone she meets. ‘Chota packet bada dhamaka’ is one small phrase which can give some idea about her personality.

Besides all this, Neha is the friend who understands you and is always there for you, no matter what. She is the one friend you can always count on and is very close to our hearts. If you get to know her from inside, you might get to know a completely different person. And hence, this ebullient and benevolent soul has created a permanent place in her friends’ hearts!’
We hope that she keeps spreading joy around her wherever she goes in the journey of life. We wish her better health and best of luck for the upcoming endeavours that are in store for her.

It’s the one and only, Divyanshi Gulati. Her art of taking everything in stride perfectly justifies her being called “SHER” 🦁. Panicking right before the exams, blacking out on the exam day, but still maintaining that 9 CGPA, that's our Topper Divyanshi for you.

Everyone loves her favorite conversation opener "Aur vi ladke kya haal chaal". From chatting about serious things to having ‘Emoji fights 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️’ on WhatsApp, her life keeps swinging from acting like a grown-up to acting like a kid. From being a little afraid of public speaking to jumping into all sorts of extra-curricular activities, WEC, IEEE, SCC, Basketball, to bagging Miss Freshers, this humble, hardworking lady has not left any stone unturned in her life.

If "Yaar mujhe kuch nahi aata'' one day before the exam and then getting an A+ in the same had a face, it would surely be Divyanshi. But also, whenever you need any course notes a day before the exam, only one person comes to mind. If you guessed Divyanshi, you’d be right. This dedicated soul never gives up on making notes during lectures and making her own assignments. Ping her a day before and she will make PDFs out of all her beautifully decorated notes and act as a life saver for all of us.

Her famous one liner "Mujhe hi toh pata hoga yaar" is the answer to most of the questions you ask her. But whenever you need to understand a concept just a day or even an hour before the exam, you automatically dial her number. She’ll definitely revert back with answers to most of the doubts and act as a life saver again! It would be safe to say that she has good navigation skills. No wonder we call her life-saver Divyanshi.
This girl is extremely helpful, kind, and is always there to help others. Her assignments are a model reference for almost half of the batch. She has her own Ninja Technique for learning formulas, so we know that she can achieve whatever she wants once she sets her mind to it, but you need to motivate her and make her realise her potential for that.
If you hear someone saying Oooooooo…, and ending arguments with “yeh toh obvious hai na”, you know the person. Be it college fun groups or technical project groups, she loves to take the lead, she’s the one who binds the group together. Talking about her coding skills, she will always humbly say ‘mujhe kuch nahi ata, team me lene ke liye thank you’ and will end up solving hard problems for the team. Her positive attitude can be seen from her line "yeh mujhe nahi aata but main seekh lungi". You can blindly trust her to help you debug your disastrous code patiently, she never turns her back on responsibilities, and you can always rely on her.

Need genuine advice on your life problems? Divyanshi is at the rescue! This kind hearted soul has always supported and guided her friends. Be it bringing home cooked food for hostellers, giving a city tour on the back seat of her Activa or cooking food for her flatmates, she does it all with a smile.
This fun loving girl knows how to enjoy her life to the fullest. However, making her like a movie or series is a difficult task (she even left Harry Potter in the middle!). And she's quite an eccentric picky eater, no fizz drinks, no kaju katli and no golgappas (yes, you read that right). She is also always seen running towards the parking lot after finishing her exam because she fears finding out that her answers might be wrong when all the other students discuss what they wrote.
Tip - You should never disturb her sleep. Once her friends didn't let her sleep when she was sleepy on the industrial tour, and later she didn't let anyone else sleep. Not to mention, how much they were scolded for that later. Not letting her sleep that night gave us our girl's famous rendition of Anoop sir's line "I will give you X for the tour" which never fails to make us laugh.
Divyanshi is one of the most genuine and humble people you’d meet in college. If you are feeling down, talking to her can take you out of your gloom and make you realise that you were worrying about nothing, and that everything is going to be alright. This girl can be everything: fun loving, sanskari, studious, an awesome friend, an A1 volunteer, and whatnot. It would amaze some, but she's a sports enthusiast too, she was a part of the college basketball team.
To us Divyanshi is the perfect blend of a cool high school nerd and a stud muffin. The time it takes to become her friend is surprisingly little (~30 seconds tops) despite her absence on social media platforms. She is so easy to talk to that you wouldn’t even know if she actually knows the person you are ranting to her about or not. Also, she has a perfect face for any situation. Her joke face, ‘hain?’ face, serious face, teaser face, all of these never fail to make other people smile.
In addition to being the best office rant/gossip partner, Divyanshi is also the most dependable friend to have at work being the go-to person for how-to-anything, be it the painstaking compliance rules of JPMorgan or how to apply for reimbursements. She would help out her fellow office noob friends (Divyanshi, you know who :p) time and again, step by step. We thank her for all the money she has saved her friends. And despite all this "multitasking", this girl always managed to leave office the earliest (read: on time) while others slogged away for the infamously long working hours. In a nutshell, her efficiency at work made us all feel equal parts envious and proud of her. A future badass boss lady, we are looking at!
Divyanshi is one such friend who will mock and tease you on your face, but will always have your back when you are not looking. She is one of the very few people who can have enormous amounts of fun without compromising their principles (however weird they might be). Her bubbly and lively nature makes her a very desirable companion and we've never seen her take credit for any of her wondrous skills and abilities (a full-fledged "Sharmaji ki beti" type, who can give your parents a lot of wistful fantasies about how you should have been). Not only is she a beautiful and pure individual, but also her family has some of the most affectionate people anyone could ever meet, and there is now a permanent place reserved for them in our hearts. Her dedication and hard work towards whatever she does can never go unnoticed by anyone. This humble girl is the perfect example of how you would want your best friend (and even a roommate!) to be like.
Claiming “Mujhe kuch nahi aata, main pura din soti rehti hun”, and then “Oh haan ye to maine padha tha” with the perfect CGPA and a perfect balance between life and academics, you just can’t find someone better at juggling all those things. A person trading bad jokes with more bad jokes, your day cannot get any more interesting and hilarious after talking to her. A true gem of a person, hopefully she’ll make true of her promises for a big feast of a treat. We really hope she has a bright and food filled future ahead.
