The Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the NSS Unit and Placement Cell of PGGCG-11, organised a Workshop on Investor Awareness, attended by 150+ students.
🌟 Dr. Ritu Bala, SEBI SMART Trainer and Financial Literacy Expert, sensitised students about financial planning, investment options, investor rights and safe investment practices through an interactive session.

PGGCG-11 Celebrates Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026 with a Nutritious Snack Cookery Competition! 🥗👩‍🍳
The Department of Home Science, PGGCG-11, organised a Cookery Competition on “Nutritious Snack” on 9th September 2026 to mark Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026.
With around 100 students of B.A. II participating, the competition showcased an exciting variety of delicious, nutrient-rich snacks. Participants prepared high-protein sweet or savoury snacks and millet-based delicacies, demonstrating their creativity, healthy cooking practices and presentation skills.

PGGCG-11 Celebrates National Sports Day with Chess & Badminton Competitions!

The Department of Physical Education & Sports, in collaboration with the NSS Unit, under the aegis of IQAC, organised an Inter-Class Chess Competition and Staff Badminton Matches on 29th August 2026 to celebrate National Sports Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, the “Wizard of Hockey.”
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 15 students each participating in chess and badminton competitions, while teaching faculty actively engaged in the badminton matches. The activities aimed to foster sportsmanship, healthy competition and the spirit of teamwork among students and faculty.
🏅 Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal appreciated the efforts of the Department of Physical Education & Sports and distributed prizes to the winners. The Community Hygiene and Public Health Society and NSS Units, PGGCG-11, under the aegis of IQAC, organised a lecture on “Nourish to Flourish: Nutrition for Women – Eat Right | Stay Bright” on 11 September 2026 as part of Poshan Mah 2026.
Ms. Depinder Kaur, Dietician and Co-Founder, Diet University, Mohali, sensitised students about balanced nutrition, healthy eating habits and lifestyle choices for women’s physical and mental well-being.

The NSS Unit, PGGCG-11 organised an engaging lecture-cum-workshop on Holistic Health and Integrated Amrita Meditation (IAM) for students and faculty. The session was conducted by Mr. Narinder Anand and Ms. Shweta Anand, Coordinators, Youth Empowerment Group, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kerala.

The Department of Psychology, PGGCG-11, in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and IAHRW, organised a three-day National CRE Workshop on “Digital Age and Child Mental Health: Behavioral Addictions, Screen Use and Emerging Psychopathology” from 10–12 September 2026.
The workshop, under the RCI Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Programme, brought together eminent experts and professionals to address concerns such as problematic screen use, online gaming, cyberbullying, online harassment, sexting and emerging psychopathology among children and adolescents.

World First Aid Day 2026 at PGGCG-11, Chandigarh

The Community Hygiene and Public Health Society, PGGCG-11 observed World First Aid Day on 13 September 2026 through an engaging role-play activity by undergraduate students.

Around 60 students enthusiastically demonstrated essential first-aid techniques including CPR, dressing, bandaging and splinting, highlighting the importance of quick response, teamwork and preparedness during emergencies.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal appreciated the initiative and applauded the students for their effective demonstration of vital first-aid skills.

🎶💃 Celebrating Talent, Creativity & Cultural Expression! 💃🎶
The ‘Kala Triveni’ – Society of Music Vocal, Instrumental and Dance, PGGCG-11, Chandigarh organised a vibrant Talent Hunt for freshers from undergraduate and postgraduate classes, providing them with a wonderful platform to showcase their creativity and artistic potential.
✨ Around 40 enthusiastic students participated across various categories, including Geet/Ghazal, Bhajan/Shabad/Sufi, Folk Song/Heritage, Bollywood, Instrumental Music, Semi-Classical Dance, Folk Dance and Freestyle Dance.
The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal, Principal, PGGCG-11, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the participants, she congratulated the Department of Music and Dance for nurturing young talent and encouraged the students to excel in their chosen fields and bring laurels to the institution.
