Big news from Parliament! 🇮🇳
The Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026 has been passed by both Houses.
This historic legislation now gives our national song Vande Mataram the same legal and statutory protection as the national anthem Jana Gana Mana.
It amends the original Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971.
Timeline:
• Introduced in Rajya Sabha – 24 July 2026
• Passed by Rajya Sabha – 29 July 2026
• Cleared by Lok Sabha – 30 July 2026
Vande Mataram now stands equal in honour and legal protection.
Respect our national symbols.
