===========================

Social media has revolutionized our approach to gaining knowledge and absorbing information. The emergence of microlearning has facilitated the consumption of small, easily digestible portions of information. This piece will delve into how social media has contributed to the proliferation of microlearning, and how this trend has disrupted conventional learning.

Microlearning is an educational technique that involves conveying content in brief, manageable segments. These short lessons are designed to be quickly and conveniently consumed, and can be accessed via various devices, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Social media has also enabled learners to access information while on the move, making learning possible at any time, anywhere.

How Social Media has Amplified the Popularity of Microlearning:

Social media has further popularized microlearning in several ways. First, it has enabled educators and trainers to reach a broader audience. Social media platforms boast of millions of active users, and by tapping into these platforms, educators and trainers can make their content available to a large number of people. Additionally, social media has made it possible to develop immersive and interactive content. Platforms such as Instagram and TikTok provide the ideal forum for creating brief, visually appealing videos that are ideal for microlearning.

The Advantages of Social Media and Microlearning:

Social media and microlearning offer a plethora of advantages. For learners, social media presents access to an extensive range of content, from expert opinions to user-generated content. Social media also allows for customized learning, as learners can choose the content that resonates with them. Additionally, social media provides a platform for learners to collaborate and connect with others.

For educators and trainers, social media offers a means to engage learners in novel ways and access a broader audience. Social media platforms enable the creation of interactive content such as quizzes and surveys, which aid educators in gauging learners' grasp of the material. Additionally, social media offers an avenue for the creation of communities of learners, where learners can exchange knowledge and insights.

Conclusion:

Everyone has a different ability or genius. Comparing yourself to someone else's abilities could mean overlooking what you are naturally more suited towards doing. It is absurd to use a single inflexible standard for assessing the achievement of each individual student.

Stop being a fish trying to climb a tree and embrace your fishiness.

Preparing for Longer Careers: A New Mindset for the Future of Work

As people live healthier and longer lives, traditional 40-year careers are evolving into 60-year careers, posing new challenges for employees and companies alike.

Millennials and the generations after them will require a new mindset towards career planning. People will need to move sideways and even downwards at times, while also ensuring they have adequate income to sustain lengthy lives. They will need to acquire new skills to avoid becoming obsolete and take career breaks to balance their personal and professional lives.

People will need to pace their careers differently to avoid burnout, and for employers to adapt and establish flexible routes in and out of the workplace. In this new terrain, employees should expect a non linear career resembling a jungle gym rather than a ladder.

When we overthink, we make no decisions.
When we under-think, we make bad decisions.

There is probably a right amount of thinking that needs to be done before making a call.

3 things that could help:

[1] 80-20 rule:

- 80% of the results come from 20% critical things.

- Let's say you have to make a career decision: 20% most critical things about this decision.

- For me it would be: am I good at this (or can become good at this?), is money okay?, and work life balance okay?

[2] Don't sweat the small stuff:

- Should I buy this or not? [set a daily limit]

- Which exercise should I do today? (any, 20-30mins is fine)

- What clothes should I wear? (clean)

[3] Avoid making most small decisions:

Outsource most small decisions to others (or make as few decisions as possible).

- When we go out to eat, I rarely ever pick the spot. Let your family/friends do it.

- If you like the food, that becomes a go-to place from next time.

- If the food is bad: reject the place, blame the person and move on 😂

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Wednesday announced that his country and the Indian government have finalized the `Australia-India Education Qualification Recognition Mechanism.'

“This new mechanism means that if you are an Indian student who is studying or have studied in Australia, your hard-earned degree will be recognised when you return home. Or if you are a member of Australia's very large Indian diaspora -- 500,000 and growing -- you will feel more confident that your Indian qualification will be recognised in Australia,” he said.

Career in a world ruled by ChatGPT: Jobs that will or won’t survive 09/03/2023

While AI is changing the job market, it is not a complete replacement for human skills and abilities. Jobs that require creativity, emotional intelligence, sympathy, understanding and complex problem-solving are likely to remain secure, while jobs that involve repetitive tasks and low levels of creativity may be at risk. AI can complement these jobs by taking on repetitive tasks, allowing humans to focus on more complex aspects of the job.

Career in a world ruled by ChatGPT: Jobs that will or won’t survive With ChatGPT clearing the US’s medical exam, students, university professors and parents are concerned about how the AI chatbot is likely to impact schools, colleges and the workplace. But is the panic too much too soon?
