Our esteemed HOD, Dr. Pratik Ghosh, had the honour of attending the 7th HAI Hoteliers' Conclave, organised by the Hotel Association of India (HAI) at Taj Palace, New Delhi, on 18 September 2026.

Held on the theme "Re-engineering Hospitality," the conclave brought together the brightest minds from the hospitality industry to deliberate on emerging trends, technological advancements, sustainability, changing consumer behaviour, and the future direction of the sector.

Dr. Ghosh's participation provided an enriching opportunity to engage with industry leaders and gain invaluable insights into the evolving hospitality landscape — further strengthening the vital bond between industry and academia. 🤝

Cleanliness is not a responsibility of a few, but a commitment of all.

The Swachhta Pakhwara was inaugurated at Dr.Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management Chandigarh with a lamp lighting ceremony held in the institute lobby. On this occasion, the Swachhta Pledge was undertaken by the Principal Sir, faculty members and staff, reaffirming their commitment towards cleanliness and hygiene.

As part of the pledge, everyone committed to devoting at least 2 hours every week towards voluntary cleanliness activities and contributing towards a cleaner, healthier and more hygienic campus and community.

Dr.Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management Chandigarh organized a guest lecture on the significance of mixology in hospitality education, featuring Mr. Santosh Gumade, a hospitality professional with over eight years of international experience in bartending, restaurant management, and beverage operations.

The session gave students a practical, professional perspective on the craft of bartending, the evolving role of mixology in the industry, and the career opportunities it presents. The lecture covered the fundamentals of cocktail indulgence, the broader role of mixology in modern hospitality, the factors driving growth in bartender employment, and the future scope for bartenders.

Beyond the slides, Mr. Gumade shared personal insights from his career — working behind the bar at two of the world's busiest airports, the discipline of pre-opening operations, and the standards demanded by working alongside Michelin-starred chefs.

As part of the DGR initiative of spreading awareness of welfare schemes available for Ex-Servicemen, an informative lecture on the CSC Scheme was conducted on 09 Sep 2026 at AIHM Chandigarh.

40 participants attending the course from 10 Aug to 27 Nov 2026 were addressed by Mr. Pradeep Kumar, representative of CSC Office. Ms. Shalini Sachdeva, HOD represented the institute.

38 participants who attended the course from 11 May to 28 Aug 2026 were addressed via video conference by Col Rajneesh Vijra, Joint Director, DRZ (West). Mr. Arvind Varma, Principal and Ms. Shalini Sachdeva, HOD represented the institute and handed over the completion certificates.

Some gifts cannot be wrapped—they can only be passed on.

An insightful expert talk on “Promoting Eye Donation and its Awareness” was conducted for the 5th Semester students at Dr.Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management Chandigarh in collaboration with the Department of Advanced Eye Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh.

The session was led by Dr. Deepali, Senior Resident, Cornea & Refractive Surgery; Mr. Asheet Parihar, Medical Social Welfare Officer; and Mr. Mukesh Verma, Senior Counsellor, who sensitised students about the significance of eye donation and its power to restore the precious gift of vision.

The engaging interaction inspired students to become ambassadors of awareness, encouraging them to spread the message and inspire others to contribute towards this noble cause.
