*🎉 Reflecting on Adizya’24: Flames of Foundation Talk Show with Ar. Shayan Kumaradas🎉*
We at the Department of Architecture and Planning, NIT Calicut, are thrilled with the overwhelming response to Adizya’24 and would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ar. Shayan Kumaradas for an inspiring and insightful talk show, “Flames of Foundation.”
Ar. Shayan Kumaradas shared his philosophy that design should preserve and enhance the culture of a place rather than diminish it. He emphasized that architecture should integrate traditional elements with modern technology and artistic expression to create a meaningful cultural connection. Ar. Shayan illustrated this concept through two of his projects: the Hatton National Bank building and the ceremonial entrance for the University of Jaffna. In the latter, he drew inspiration from the university’s existing entrance structures and incorporated artwork by students, creating a design that honors local heritage while embracing contemporary architecture.
Thank you, Ar. Shayan Kumaradas, for delivering a thoughtful blend of past and present that inspired the audience to approach architecture with a deeper respect for cultural identity. We also extend our gratitude to everyone who joined us, making Adizya’24 a truly memorable experience.
Stay tuned for more exciting events and conversations as we continue to ignite the flame of knowledge and innovation in architecture. 🔥✨
