According to APA Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how we feel, the way we think and how we act. Best part is it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities we once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease our ability to function at work and at home. If you are going through depression this steps can help you beat it.

The period after you have your baby can be filled with countless emotions. You may feel anything from joy to fear to sadness. If your feelings of sadness become severe and start to interfere with your everyday life, you may be experiencing postpartum depression (PPD).
Symptoms usually start within a few weeks of delivery, though they may develop up to six months afterward. They may include mood swings, trouble bonding with your baby, and difficulty thinking or making decisions.
If you feel like you may be depressed, you aren’t alone. Approximately 1 in 7 women in India develop PPD.
There are also things you can do at home to help cope with everyday life.

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a complex mix of physical, emotional, and behavioral changes that happen in some women after giving birth. According to the DSM-5, a manual used to diagnose mental disorders, PPD is a form of major depression that begins within 4 weeks after delivery. The diagnosis of postpartum depression is based not only on the length of time between delivery and onset but on the severity of the depression.

The ability to hear music depends on a series of steps that convert sound waves coming into the ear into electrical signals in the brain. As the brain interprets these sounds, a cascade of physical effects are triggered within the body. Many of these effects either directly promote sleep or reduce issues that interfere with sleep.
Music triggers the release of dopamine, a hormone released during pleasurable activities, like eating, exercise, and s*x. This release can boost good feelings at bedtime and address pain, another common cause of sleep issues. Physical and psychological responses to music are effective in reducing both acute and chronic physical pain
Listening to music can also contribute to relaxation by soothing the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system is part of your body’s natural system for controlling automatic or unconscious processes, including those within the heart, lungs, and digestive system. Music improves sleep through calming parts of the autonomic nervous system.
