Every choice comes with a catch.
Because of scarcity, we can't have everything we wantโso every decision we make comes with a trade-off. Choose college, and you give up the full-time income you could've earned. Choose to start a business, and you give up the security of a stable paycheck. Choose to prioritize family, and you give up certain hours you could've spent elsewhere.

Pero hindi lang basta "may binitawan ka." There's a specific value to itโand that's where ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ comes in: the value of the 'next best' alternative you give up when you make a choice. It's not just "I sacrificed something," it's naming exactly what that something is.
Time makes this even clearer. It's permanently limited, so every hour spent on one choice is an hour you'll never get back for another option. Every "yes" to one thing is a "no" to something else.
