He felt that the panacea for all the evils was education of the masses. Therefore he laid particular
stress on education. With the pace of time Arya Samaj grew into a mighty movement and spread in various parts of the country which laid the foundation of modern India. Arya Samaj movement opened the first DAV School in Lahore on 1st June, 1885 headed by Maharishi Hansraj who served as the first Principal of the Institution.
