ডক্টর শ্যামাপ্রসাদ মুখোপাধ্যায় (১৯০১-১৯৫৩) ছিলেন স্বাধীন ভারতের প্রথম শিল্প ও সরবরাহ মন্ত্রী এবং ভারতীয় জনসঙ্ঘের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা। বিশিষ্ট শিক্ষাবিদ ও চিন্তাবিদ শ্যামাপ্রসাদ মাত্র ৩৩ বছর বয়সে কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সর্বকনিষ্ঠ উপাচার্য হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্যের রূপকার হিসেবে পরিচিত এই নেতা কাশ্মীরকে ভারতের মূল ভূখণ্ডের সাথে পুরোপুরি যুক্ত করার দাবিতে আন্দোলন করতে গিয়ে ১৯৫৩ সালে জম্মু ও কাশ্মীরে কারাবন্দী অবস্থায় মৃত্যুবরণ করেন।🙏🏻🪷🙏🏻
