District level awareness and counselling workshop on Skill-Based Education was jointly organised by Assam Skill University in association with SEED Foundation (Skill Education and Entrepreneurship Development Foundation) and Birjhora Kanya Mahavidyalaya at Birjhora Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Bongaigaon on 2nd June 2026 from 12 noon onwards (Room no. NB1). The programme witnessed the presence of several distinguished guests, including Smt. Nirmali Barman (APS), Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bongaigaon District, Dr. Reshmi Bhattacharya, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Birjhora Mahavidyalaya, Bongaigaon, Ms Julina Kashyap, Assistant Director, Community Outreach & PR, Assam Skill University, Mangaldai and Smt. Under the initiative of IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) and Publication cell released its 3rd publication on Ist June 2026 at the farewell programme of BA final year students.The book was unveiled by chief guest honorable MLA 18 No Bongaigaon Smt Diptimoyee Choudhury. The Editor of the book Dr. kalpana kalita Das delivered a brief introduction about the book and thanked all the paper contributers. The Department of English, Birjhora Kanya Mahavidyalaya, organized an Academic Enrichment Program at Dhalagaon M.E. School, Dhalagaon, Bongaigaon on 21st May 2026. The program aimed to enhance the English communication, reading, and writing skills of the students. Faculty members and students of the English Major actively participated in conducting interactive sessions for the academic benefit of the school students. Educational Trip to Hajo – A Journey Through Faith and heritage on 11 May 2026
The Department of History, Birjhora Kanya Mahavidyalaya visited Hajo, Assam’s sacred Triveni Sangam. We explored the Panchatirtha — Hayagriva Madhav, Kedar, Kameshwar, Ganesh, and Kamleshwar temples — and Poa Mecca, reflecting Hajo’s unique Hindu-Buddhist-Muslim harmony.

The site also showcases classic Ahom-Koch architecture through stone carvings, tiered shikhara, and sacred water tanks — a living lesson in history, devotion, and heritage.

The Department of Political Science,BKM organized a field survey among the tea garden workers of Birjhora Tea Estate, Bongaigaon on 21st May 2026. The 4th-semester Major students of the department went door to door to collect data for their project on "Political Participation Among Tea Garden Workers." Students used structured questionnaires and interviews to ensure accurate and comprehensive data collection. The faculty members guided the students during the data collection process. The findings from the survey will help analyze voting behaviour and awareness of political rights among the workers.
