The felicitation ceremony was chaired by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Taranee Deka and attended by Dr. Dinesh Das, Registrar of the University; Dr. Rupanjali Devi, Member of the Executive Council; faculty members, non-teaching staff and representatives of the Postgraduate Students’ Union.

A National Seminar on "Literary Magazines in Bodo Language " and "Meet the Author" was held on 30th May, 2026 at Bongaigaon University Conference Hall organised by the Department of Bodo, Bongaigaon University in collaboration with Sahitya Akademi, Eastern region and Bodo Department Teachers' Association (BDTA). The Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Bongaigaon University, Prof. Taranee Deka, Dr. Devendra kumar Devesh, the Regional Secratary, Sahitya Akademi, Eastern Region,Kolkata; Dr. Bijitgiri Basumatary, member, Bodo Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi. The programme started with lighting the lamp by distinguished guests.
Dr. Devendra Kumar Devesh delivered the welcome address and explained the various activities of Sahitya Akademi. The Hon'ble Vice Chancellor and chairperson of the inaugural session Prof. Taranee Deka delivered a very warm and meaningful speech where he mentioned about the importance of preservation and dissemination of knowledge in language and literature.

The Central Library, Bongaigaon University in collaboration with Saduo Asom Lekhika Samaroh Samiti organized an E-Library Installation Programme at Bongaigaon University on 13th May 2026. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Bongaigaon University graced the programme as chief guest and shared his insights on digital library and it’s advantages.
The vice president of Saduo Asom Lekhika Samaroh Samiti and other members, Hon’ble Registrar and other faculty members and students attended the programme.
The director of 'Tratri' group, Mr. Trideep Baruah launched the E-library Tratri and explained it’s features. We are hopeful that this e-library will be so helpful in learning and exploring Assamese literature.

An awareness talk on “The Ideals of Sacrifice associated with Shaheedi Diwas and the History and Legacy of Vande Mataram” was held today at the Conference Hall of Bongaigaon University.

The session was chaired by Dr. Dinesh Das, Registrar of Bongaigaon University and graced by distinguished guests including Dr. Chinmoy Bhattacharjee, Principal of Birjhora Mahavidyalaya, Dr. Basanta Das, Principal, Birjhora Kanya Mahavidyalaya and Dr. Hemanta Saud, Coordinator, KKHSOU, Birjhora Mahavidyalaya Study Centre.

The programme witnessed active participation from faculty members and students and was hosted by Ms. Rita Goswami, Coordinator, KKHSOU, Bongaigaon University Study Centre.

The programme concluded on a patriotic note with the rendition of Vande Mataram, resonating the spirit of sacrifice and national pride. 🇮🇳

Bongaigaon University has established a Centre for Koch Rajbongshi Studies in association with the Kamatapur Autonomous Council and All Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU) to promote research on the Koch Rajbongshi community.

The centre was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Bongaigaon University Prof. Taranee Deka, in the presence of distinguished guests including Diptimayee Choudhury, MLA of Bongaigaon Constituency, Dibakar Nath, IAS, District Commissioner of Bongaigaon, Dr. Dinesh Das, Registrar, Bongaigaon University and the representatives of AKRSU and KAC.

The programme was attended by dignitaries of various fields of Bongaigaon and other parts of the State along with the faculty members, non-teaching staff and the students of the university. The programme was hosted by Dr. Banajit Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Bongaigaon University.

Bongaigaon University celebrated International Women’s Day on 10th March, 2026 at the University Conference Hall. The programme was organised by the Women’s Cell in collaboration with Indian Knowledge System, Bongaigaon University.

The event was hosted by Dr. Chandana Das, Assistant Professor, Department of Assamese which featured distinguished women from various fields of Bongaigaon, including Diptimayee Choudhury (MLA, Bongaigaon LAC), Dr. Nitumoni Kalita, Manjula Choudhury, Bani Baruah and Dr. Rupanjali Devi.

The programme began with a welcome address by Vice Chancellor Prof. Taranee Deka and was attended by Registrar Dr. Dinesh Das, faculty members, staff and the students of the University. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Karabi Saikia, Associate Professor, Department of Philosophy.

📌 কোচ-ৰাজবংশী গৱেষণা কেন্দ্ৰ স্থাপনৰ বাবে বঙাইগাঁও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আৰু কামতাপুৰ স্বায়ত্ত্বশাসিত পৰিষদৰ মাজত চুক্তি

গৱেষণাৰ এক নতুন অধ‍্যায়ৰ সূচনাৰে বঙাইগাঁও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আৰু কামতাপুৰ স্বায়ত্ত্বশাসিত পৰিষদৰ মাজত আজি এক পাৰস্পৰিক বুজাবুজিৰ চুক্তি (MoU) স্বাক্ষৰিত হয়। এই চুক্তিৰ জৰিয়তে বঙাইগাঁও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ত এক কোচ-ৰাজবংশী গৱেষণা কেন্দ্ৰ স্থাপন কৰা হ’ব য’ত কোচ-ৰাজবংশী সম্পৰ্কীয় বিভিন্ন গৱেষণাৰ দিশ সাঙুৰি ল’ব।

কোচ ৰাজবংশী সমাজৰ ইতিহাস, সংস্কৃতি আৰু সামাজিক-ৰাজনৈতিক জীৱনৰ ওপৰত গৱেষণাক প্ৰাতিষ্ঠানিক ৰূপ দিয়াৰ দিশত এই পদক্ষেপক এক গুৰুত্বপূৰ্ণ অগ্ৰগতি হিচাপে বিবেচনা কৰা হৈছে।

বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় সভাকক্ষত অনুষ্ঠিত এই চুক্তি স্বাক্ষৰ অনুষ্ঠানত সভাপতিত্ব কৰে বঙাইগাঁও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ৰ মাননীয় উপাচাৰ্য অধ‍্যাপক তৰণী ডেকাই। অনুষ্ঠানত ভাষণ দি অধ‍্যাপক ডেকাই কোচ-ৰাজবংশী সমাজৰ সৱলীকৰণ আৰু উন্নয়নৰ বাবে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে সকলোধৰণৰ বিদ্যায়তনিক সহায় আগবঢ়াব বুলি প্ৰতিশ্ৰুতি দিয়ে।

অনুষ্ঠানত উপস্থিত থাকি কামতাপুৰ স্বায়ত্ত্বশাসিত পৰিষদৰ মুখ্য কাৰ্যনিৰ্বাহী পৰিষদীয় সদস্য জীৱেশ ৰায়ে কয় যে কোচ-ৰাজবংশী সমাজৰ ওপৰত দীঘলীয়া আৰু অৰ্থপূৰ্ণ গৱেষণা চলাবলৈ পৰিষদে অধিক আৰ্থিক সহায় আগবঢ়াই যাব।
