World No To***co Day (WNTD) is observed around the world every year on May 31. It is intended to encourage a 24-hour period of abstinence from all forms of to***co consumption around the globe. The day is further intended to draw attention to the widespread prevalence of to***co use and to negative health effects, which currently lead to nearly 6 million deaths each year worldwide, including 600,000 of which are the result of non-smokers being exposed to second-hand smoke.[1] The member states of the World Health Organization (WHO) created World No To***co Day in 1987.

आज जैनामोड़, बोकारो स्थित विनय इंटरनेशनल स्कूल में झारखण्ड फाउंडेशन द्वारा पंचायत प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न हुआ, जिसमें जिला पंचायती राज पदाधिकारी श्री शिवशंकर तथा झारखण्ड फाउंडेशन के निदेशक डॉ विष्णु राजगढ़िया ने पंचायती राज संबंधी प्रमुख प्रावधानों की जानकारी दी एवं यूनिसेफ के श्री घनश्याम ने पेयजल एवं स्वच्छता योजनाओं की जानकारी दी। मुखिया श्री अजय सिंह ने महत्वपूर्ण अनुभव बताये। प्रशिक्षण में जरीडीह प्रखंड के प्रमुख, उपप्रमुख एवं जिला परिशद सदस्यों के साथ ही बड़ी संख्या में मुखिया, पंचायत समिति सदस्य एवं वार्ड सदय शामिल थे। संचालन विजय ठाकुर ने किया।
