In celebration of upcoming Raksha Bandhan, the Eco Club of St. Xavier's School, Bokaro Steel City, hosted a 'Vriksha Bandhan' drive to promote nature conservation on 25th August 2026. During the event, students tied handcrafted Rakhis to trees across the campus, symbolic of a pledge to protect the environment. Drawing a parallel to the traditional festival, students noted that just as brothers protect their sisters, trees safeguard human life by purifying the air, providing shade, and sustaining the ecosystem. Organized under the guidance of Principal Fr. Arun Minj, S.J., the program concluded with a solemn student pledge to plant more saplings and advocate for environmental preservation under the banner: "Save Trees, Save Lives."

Raksha Bandhan Rakhi Making Competition 2026

✨ Celebrating Creativity, Tradition & the Spirit of Raksha Bandhan! ✨

The Department of Posts (India Post), Dhanbad Division organised a Rakhi Making Competition 2026 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

Our students participated enthusiastically and showcased their creativity by designing beautiful handmade Rakhis. The activity also provided them with a meaningful, hands-on learning experience about the postal system, as they prepared their Rakhis to be sent to their loved ones through the Post Office.

The event beautifully combined creativity, learning and the emotions of sibling love, making it a memorable experience for all the participants.

🏆 The top 10 students will be felicitated with prizes for their outstanding creativity and participation.

🇮🇳 80th Independence Day Celebration at St. Xavier’s School, Bokaro Steel City 🇮🇳

With immense pride and patriotic fervour, St. Xavier’s School, Bokaro Steel City, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and splendour. 🇮🇳✨

The celebration was graced by our esteemed Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Vincent Hansdak, S.J., Provincial Superior, Hazaribagh Province, whose presence added great significance and inspiration to the occasion.

The programme beautifully showcased the spirit of freedom, unity and patriotism through inspiring performances, cultural presentations and heartfelt tributes to the brave souls who sacrificed their lives for our nation.

As the Tricolour soared high, the entire Xavierian community came together to honour our glorious past and reaffirm our commitment to building a stronger, peaceful and progressive India.

# Regional Athletic Meet Concludes; Ranchi Zone Emerges Overall Champion

The two-day Regional Athletic Meet concluded on a high note with a grand closing ceremony, celebrating outstanding performances, sportsmanship, and team spirit displayed by athletes from all five zones. The event witnessed intense competition across various track and field events, with students showcasing remarkable talent, determination, and discipline throughout the meet.

Ranchi Zone emerged as the Overall Champion, securing the highest number of points through consistent excellence in multiple events. The winning team was awarded the championship trophy amid loud applause and cheers from participants, coaches, and spectators. Outstanding athletes in different categories were also felicitated for their exceptional achievements.

The Principal, Fr. Arun Minj, S.J., congratulated all the participants for their dedication and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence in sports alongside academics. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of medals and trophies, followed by a vote of thanks and the National Anthem, marking the successful conclusion of the Regional Athletic Meet.

The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a march past by the participating teams, showcasing discipline, unity, and sportsmanship.

The Principal, Fr. Arun Minj, S.J., welcomed the participants, emphasizing the importance of sports in building character, teamwork, and perseverance. The athletes took the oath to uphold the true spirit of fair play and healthy competition.
The two-day meet aims to provide a platform for young athletes to demonstrate their talent, determination, and sporting excellence while fostering friendship and mutual respect among participants.

Happy Feast of St. Clare of Assisi was celebrated with great devotion and joy at St. Xavier's School, Bokaro. The occasion highlighted the inspiring life and virtues of St. Clare, known for her deep faith, humility, and dedication to God.

Students and staff gathered to honor our Sr. Sunita, FCC and Sr. Anupama, FCC for her legacy through prayer and reflection, drawing inspiration from her commitment to simplicity, service, and spiritual strength. The celebration served as a reminder of the values she cherished and encouraged everyone to follow her example in their daily lives.

Hiroshima Day.
The Middle Section of St. Xavier's School, Bokaro, conducted a meaningful and thought-provoking assembly to observe Hiroshima Day. The students beautifully highlighted the tragic events of Hiroshima and conveyed a powerful message on the importance of peace, humanity, and a world free from war.
The assembly was informative, well-organized, and deeply touching. It served as a reminder of the devastating consequences of nuclear warfare and inspired everyone to work towards harmony and peace.
Mahua Ma'am also appreciated the sincere efforts and initiative taken by the students and teachers in organizing such a relevant and impactful assembly. Her words of encouragement motivated the students to continue participating in activities that promote awareness, compassion, and responsible global citizenship.

World Conservation Day Observed with Great Enthusiasm at Chappell Hall

To mark World Conservation Day, the students of Class 7C organized a meaningful awareness programme at Chappell Hall, highlighting the importance of protecting our only home—Mother Earth.

The programme began with a creative skit performed by the students, featuring characters such as Mother Earth and the Pollution Monster. What made the performance even more special was that the students designed and prepared their own costumes using waste paper, beautifully conveying the message of recycling and environmental conservation.

Adding to the excitement, five students were given just 15 minutes to prepare speeches on World Conservation Day. They rose to the challenge with confidence and delivered inspiring speeches, demonstrating excellent creativity, knowledge, and public speaking skills.

The Vice Principal of the Middle School "Sister Sunita" addressed the gathering and encouraged every student to take responsibility for protecting our only planet, Mother Earth. She emphasized the importance of keeping our surroundings clean and adopting sustainable habits in our daily lives.

The interactive session that followed saw enthusiastic participation from the students seated in Chappell Hall. They shared thoughtful ideas on conserving water, minerals, trees, and the environment, proving that young minds can contribute significantly to building a sustainable future.
