ct system of grant-in-Aid by the Govt.of Assam on 01-04-1963.The science section was introduced with the beginning of Pre-University classes under Gauhaty University in the year 1970.Degree courses in science subjects started from 1976.The science section was brought under deficit system of grant-in-Aid on 01-01-1978.

One of the greatest events of Biswanath College is undoubtedly All Assam Inter-College Sadananda Chaliha Memorial Elocution Competition and Najeebur Rahman Memorial Quiz Competition. This year the event will take place on October 27th, 2014. While the best competitor in the speech competition will get Rs 3000.00, the second and third will get Rs2000 and Rs1500.00 respectively. The topic of elocution: "The Existing Semester System in the Higher Education of Assam and the Expansion of Quality Higher Education" The first group, second group and the third group in the quiz competition will receive Rs 3000.00, 2500 and 2000 respectively. We expect the participation of all the colleges of Assam in the forthcoming event

REAL STORY OF 'DAINI' & AWARNESS CAMP ORGANISED BY BISWANATH RED CROSS SOCIETY : one woman living in a remote vill, Jongol Bosti about 10 km from B/Ch. She lost her huband,her son and her brother-inlaw who were suffered in undiagonised diseases for a prolong period. Vill. pepole think her to be most unfortunate woman,'DAINI'.Recenly one 12 yrs boy suffering from congenital heart diseases breathed his last in the same vill. Vill. pepole accused the woman for the death of the child.They secretly arranged meeting in the vill. and decided to attack the lady. But the lady some how escape from the villegers.THE RED CROSS SOCIETY OF BISWANATH UNDER PRESIDENCY OF Mr. Narayan Konwar,SDO(CIVIL) & PRESIDENT OF BRC organised a awarness cm health check up camp in the said place today.Resource person Mr. Rana Hazarika,Mr. Dhoneswar Borah delivered fruitful lecture to the villeger & students.
