🚀 IIC Activity: Lean Startup and MVP – Boot Camp/Mentoring

The Department of Pharm.D, BLDEA’s SSM College of Pharmacy & Research Centre, Vijayapura, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an engaging Boot Camp/Mentoring Session on “Lean Startup and MVP” on 20th August 2026 at the IQAC Hall.

The session was led by Mr. Ashish Kulkarni, Incubation Associate, BLDE Association, Vijayapura, who introduced students to the Lean Startup learning cycle: Problem → Hypothesis → MVP → Measure → Learn → Pivot/Persevere. Practical examples and pharmacy- and healthcare-related startup ideas made the session highly interactive and insightful.

More than 50 students from Pharmacology, Pharm.D, D.Pharm, B.Pharm, and PG programmes actively participated and gained valuable insights into innovation, entrepreneurship, problem-solving, experimentation, and startup development.

The Department of Pharmacology, BLDEA’s SSM College of Pharmacy & Research Centre, Vijayapur, successfully organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Basics of Python Programming for Pharmaceutical Sciences under NEP 2020” from 08–14 August 2026.

The seven-day FDP provided participants with valuable hands-on learning in Python programming, NumPy, Pandas, data handling, data visualization, pharmaceutical datasets, and AI applications in teaching, learning, and research.
The programme concluded successfully with a valedictory ceremony, participant feedback, and certificate distribution, marking an important step towards technology-enabled education, research, and data-driven practices in pharmaceutical sciences.

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, in collaboration with IQAC, BLDE Association’s SSM College of Pharmacy and Research Centre, Vijayapura, successfully organized a One-Day Faculty Development Workshop on “Understanding the Revised B. Pharm Syllabus: NEP 2020” on 7th August 2026.

The workshop provided valuable insights into the revised B. Pharm curriculum, outcome-based learning, curriculum enhancement, and effective implementation of NEP 2020. The expert sessions and interactive discussions offered meaningful academic guidance and encouraged collaborative learning among faculty members.

A Volunteer Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized by the NSS Unit of BLDEA's SSM College of Pharmacy and Research Centre, Vijayapura, in association with the Rotary Club of Bijapur and the Blood Bank, Shri B. M. Patil Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Vijayapura.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff, reflecting their commitment to serving humanity through voluntary blood donation.

On this occasion, Dr. C. Mallikarjuna Setty, Principal, emphasized the importance of regular voluntary blood donation and encouraged everyone to become lifesavers by donating blood.
